Need Advice...

Hi Hitec Peeps...

I have in my possession a JR R-1 PCM radio, and I require two servos... so im looking into getting Hitec servos... now i dont want to spend too much on the servos either... so I was wandering what would be good for steering and throttle servos? I'm driving an MTX-3 1/10 Scale Nitro...

Any suggestions? Not sure about digital servos... does this mean i will need to get a higher mAH receiver battery? and have to keep charging between heats...

But anyway, i wasn't quite sure if a 625 or even a 525 will do the job or not, cheers!

If you can, digital are the best.
They do use a little more power.

The HS-525 would be great for throttle.
HS-645 or HS-625 for steering....

can i use the 625 for throttle as well? because i think its rated at 0.15 @ 6V, where the 525 does a 0.17 @6V?

Yes....

thanks...

The 525 is the best throttle servo on the planet! I have never had one fail in 6 years. It is faster than the 625 by a hair but has better resolution due to the 5-pole motor.

oh buggah, now you tell me...

i went ahead and bought the HS625 for my throttle... and an HS645 for my steering... this should still be okay right?

Yes you will be fine. If you find that the 645 is a tad slow for your steering tastes, swap the two around. TTYL.

625 @ 6V = 0.17sec

645 @ 6V = 0.20sec

is there much of a difference between 0.17 to 0.20 in real time and senses?

I can feel the difference. Remember those figures are for 1/2 a rotation of the servo(60 deg) so if you were to go through a chicane it would take the 645 longer to go from lock to lock. Try them out, you may be suprised. TTYL.
