new dirt track SE AZ near sierra vista / ft huachuca
#1

RC car race track in work in a small town called huachuca city prior to fort huachuca army base and sierra vista, located on highway 90 across from the coca cola facility there.
plan on using same laser lap counting system as track in yuma, drivers stand will be around 5ft high. power on site
track will be a dirt oval with a offroad track combo. the offroad will used part of the infield oval and also use a area outside the oval. the offroad will not be a 90% oval course with a 4 turn infield

That is so awesome! Do you have any updated pictures? Have you raced on the track? How far is it from Tucson?

track is 67 miles from I- 10 and Alvernon exit in Tucson. still inwork
sierra vista has had several RC car tracks over the years, but bad locations (visibility), using borrowed land (which gets sold), no advertising 3 tracks pre-internet, 1 track pre rctech.net, FB, etc. and over reliance on the military base (deployments - wars) lead to their demise.
hopefully they can get RC Car racing going again in this location. it is next to the highway heading in and out sierra vista and fort huachuca army base. also closer to benson than any previous tracks.
