Here is what I know on my end. The three Banta's are definitely going for the August 10th race. As of right now, my Dad wants to do it in the same way as we did the first CA trip. That is, rent a car that can fit the three of us and all our stuff. I don't know if a car has already been booked or not.

One thing is for sure, I have many new bits I will be trying on the car!

I'm running up to Phoenix tomorrow to race some buggy at the new SRS, it looks pretty sweet. You guys should check it out.

Evan, not able to go next weekend, sorry for not responding to the text. While at SRS, see if you can track down Adam and find out about the possible on-road racing there.

Hey Guys, I won't be able to make the trip this weekend. Looks like the 24th or Sept 14th.

Default Motor for James

Thanks, James
James, TQ currently has the R1 Works 17.5 in stock. Grab it quick and give it a shot. The TC guys are grabbing them up as quick as they can. Supposed to be the hot ticket for stock.

The JR Z3650 is a fantastic servo. Been running mine for the past 5 years.

This is going to sound dumb, but did anyone else realize the title of this thread says Chico? Chino and Chico are at two very different places on the map and I wasn't sure why you guys wanted to drive that far. On another note, what day are they racing as it turns out I have to be in California for work on Monday.

John,

Racing is on Sunday, and it's in Chino! Unfortunately I can't remember what time they start. However, we normally try to leave Saturday around day break so that we can get a whole day of practice to dial the cars in.

Everyone else,

Thanks for all the advice on the servo and motor questions. Dad insisted on a new D4 for the motor, and am trying a Spectrum H5020G servo. Would post pictures, but I'm switching to Dad's car so I can use the RS Gen2 Speedo. In doing so I found that both bulkheads on the pod were bent, so had to make an emergency parts order that hasn't arrived yet.

Also, I stopped by the new SRS Hobby Town last Sunday. Can't wait to see how the on-road track turns out!

Depending on when my flight arrives, I'll be showing up for the racing on Sunday to watch. I will make an effort to make the next event assuming it doesn't interfere with me taking real cars out on the track.

Depending on when you guys plan to make a trip from AZ to CA - you may want to check out the CAL RACEWAY too.

(It's an outdoor asphalt track in the City of Orange, about 25 miles from Sean's TQ RC RACEWAY)

2190 N. Canal Rd.
Orange, CA 92865

Even though I didn't bring any cars, it was a lot of fun to see good carpet racing again. I guess it's time to start prepping the cars for the next trip. Hope everyone made it home safely.
