Default F1 or Pancar road course in Phoenix area?

Hello,

I am wondering if there are any onroad tracks in the Phoenix area that run road course for F1 or pancar? I would be ok with carpet too. Or do I have to get a touring car?

Thanks.

Not a lot of people run onroad here, unless you run at Cline hobbies in gilbert or hobbytown gilbert

For now Hobbytown Gilbert is the only place in the Phoenix area running On-Road Asphalt (Baseline/Gilbert). Thursday nights at 6:30PM and Saturdays at 4:00PM. F1 has just started to pick up at Hobbytown. Currently I have not seen any 1/10 PanCars running except for the Oval Classes. There is also 'talk' that when Glitch re-opens he will have asphalt along with F1 racing.

Cline Hobbies no longer holds weekly racing, but will occasionally setup a 'test-n-tune' session (like tonight at 6:00PM).

Competition Hobbies in Tucson has an indoor carpet facility.
Fast Eddies RC Hobbies in Yuma has an indoor carpet facility.
Flagstaff Hobbies in Flagstaff run outdoor asphalt.

Man Hobby Town Gilbert is still the only game intown for that??? Thats funny. It was pretty much like that a decade ago. At least at one point they had a spot at Indian bend and what is now the 101.

hmmm Looks like I will be slowly getting it back together.

Thanks guys.

Yep you are correct not much has changed, SRS did attempt an on-road program but that has since been abandoned. As Dean said there is a small group of F1 just getting started at HT Gilbert and there are a couple of oval 1/10th pancar classes, however there is no road course pancar at this time. 1/12th is run in Tucson on Sundays and thay just started an on-road points series so you might want to look into that if you have/like 1/12th.

I think that I will worry about getting the F1 rolling again. Is the F1 class spec or open?

F1 around here is kind of following the UF1 rules in regards to motor:
21.5 (timing allowed on motor)
ESC in "blinky" mode

UF1. Sweet. I found their website then saw your post. pretty sweet deal. Well. My father made some custom parts to I can run a 10LSS rear axle. I would probably have to ditch that at some point.

I would love to run rubber tires. Is that what is going on down there too? Also...IIRC there is new asphalt down now too. Back in the day we were practically racing on dragon skin(used to true foam tires). Tire dust every where!!!

Dennis sold HobbyTown to Todd. Dennis still counts on Staurdays so Todd can race, and on Thursday nights, Todd runs the races for us.

As Chris pointed out, rubber tires (unless you plan on running 1s/2s NASCAR or NASTRUK Oval)

Majority of the Class Rules can be found HERE:

oh wow he sold Hobby Town. Oh well atleast he is still active. He always seemed to enjoy what he was doing.

Thanks for the link to the specs. I just need to learn the new lingo.

1s? 2s? 21.5? Blinky? GYROS!?!?! Things have really changed.
