ROAR specifies neo in the magnets for ROAR-approved motors and sets a 540 motor list price cap of $149.00, that mfgs of these motors must meet. So brushless motor manufacturers have difficult choices ahead: maintain the same quantity of neo in their magnet "recipes" and raise prices accordingly, use less of the metal and change the characteristics of the magnet, or switch to a different material completely. Neo prices increase each week.

All of the rotors that we are currently using have the same magnet recipes we have always offered; we have not changed our rotors due to this crisis.

Our rotor prices have quintupled in the past few months making the current motor prices unsustainable. We will be announcing price increases for both our 540 motors and the 540 systems in the next few days. We are also considering setting up a Rotor Return Program for our customers to send back old, weak (but not damaged) rotors for credit on store purchases. We have the ability to re-magnetize old rotors and make them as good as new.

one of the articles said that the price of Rare earth Magnets (like the ones in the rotors) went from $19/lb last year to $129/lb this may and continue to rise.

Its time to learn Chinese....they are starting their takeover!

Nothing against Nitros! I love the smell and the power they exhibit. In all honesty, I don't think I'm capable of keeping a nitro running. I have enough trouble keeping the maytag electric rc's on the track! I can't imagine a motor with more than one moving part!

It was said they would be offering a trade program for rotors that are not damaged. Damaged means cracked or broke.... Re-Zapping rotors has already been done. I’m sure most if not all of the other manufacturers will jump on this type of program…Just my .$02

Don't worry, we'll just claim they have some aluminum tubes and "liberate" their country. ...and by liberate, I mean f-up their military and provide "security" for their mines.

I'm betting it wont. Motor cost is just a small fraction of what this hobby includes

Its a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of everything else in this god forsaken hobby. Now if the price of rubber shoots up exponentially, then I'm worried!
