Welcome! A good class for beginner is Novice Class. It's pretty much run what you bring, and a good starting place to get into racing. The other sct classes are 17.5(blinky esc), mod sct, and 4x4 sct.

Racing is 7pm start on Wednesdays and 6pm start on Saturdays. Hope to see ya out there sometime!

the sc10rs rtr would not be allowed in a 17.5 class. It is actually more of a mod motor as far as power goes. It is also a sensorless system. Meaning that, when you move from novice to 17.5, your going to need a new esc and motor. I would suggest the TLR 22SCT RTR. It comes with a 17.5 sensored system and you will have great local support with Charles Hicks and Casey Peck. They also make an RTR buggy if your interested in that class. Buggy is a very popular class. You might even look into building a kit if you are looking to race. Knowing how to fix and work on the car/truck can be very helpful, and you can find electronics for fairly cheap. The Solar D770 servo and the Turnigy 17.5 motor and esc are pretty good for a low price. For the radio, I would say the Airtronics MX-V is probably the best entry level radio.
