What time do you start and end up?

I have a Custom works Sprint car with a 4600 in it; do you have a class for them? I can put a 13.5 in if need be.

What tires work and any special set-ups needed?

Thanks
Races start 2 pm Saturday and I've only been to two races. One went until around 9:30-10 pm and the other went to like 8:30. It depends on how many classes there is. I don't know about the sprint car.

What shock oil wt is good for sc racing ?

Thanks, are you using team associated or Losi? I don't know what I prefer...pretty new to rc so I had been running with the stock oil but it leaked out in the rear.

They are both good. Just pick one and stick with it and you won't have any problems.

if your oil leaked out, you might be in need of a shock rebuild.

Yea I guess the kyosho plastic shocks are notorious for leaking. Awhile back I bought the replacement plastic shock part because I just needed the cup to hold the spring in. With the plastic shocks the o-rings come pre set in the shock bodies. I can't find online how to get the o-rings and little cartridge out of the shock body. I might just use the new shock bodies and if they leak then rebuild.

Red is a good person to ask about Kyosho stuff.... They guy smashing his truck into the wall Saturday, lol. But it can get pretty pricey updating that truck. I would fix thing that broke, but not really upgrade things. Anything aluminum will cost a ton and shocks can be very pricey unless you can find a set of used velvets in good shape. Ask around the Kyosho sct thread about ways to bullet proof those shocks. If you end up buying new shocks, you might as well sell that truck and buy a different one. new shocks can easily for over $100 for alum shocks.

lol...was that truck a kyosho? so far I've read about 140 out of 160 pages(over the last few days) in the Ultima sc thread and it looks like using grooved o-rings and green slime is the best way to keep the stock shocks from leaking. http://www.rctech.net/forum/7151837-post1080.html
And stock slash ultra shocks with aluminum caps are another alternative. I can get a whole set for $17 shipped and the caps aren't too much.

$17 is not bad. x-rings are nice, also. Traxxas make 3mm xrings, but I am unsure if your shock shafts are 3mm or not.

Here is the part number for the traxxas 3mm x-rings. you would need 2 sets of these for front and rear. you can ask in the kyosho thread if they work. I "think" they are 3mm, but not 100% sure.

Since W3 is not running SC4x4 this weekend, I am planning on the journey down to Tucson “weather permitted” but I really want to run oval. Is there a good 1:10 scale sprint car class on Saturdays and what are the class rules??

there is rarely an oval class. they normally all come down as a group. I have no idea when they will show.

I am "thinking" about coming out tonight. I kinda want to get my fix in, just in case it rains this weekend. How late have you guys been running on Wednesdays? Because 4am for work seems to comes early, lol

Last week there were about 10 classes and at 10:00/10:30 they had just finished the qualifiers. I left due to my DNF, but they probably went until midnight or so. I want to race tonight, but that depends on how fast usps gets me my parts ;p
