Default Official Battle at the Beach 2010 Race Thread

Hey Az guys, Thought I'd give a heads up to a race we have coming up in november here in havasu.

We'll be right by the water, 3 day event, The host hotel faces the water right behind the track, If you're not one of the top drivers going to the IFMAR worlds, then this might give you something to do in the mean time.

Post any questions you might have here, I will check in daily. R/V parking will not be available at the park(sorry guys, I tried) but there are several rv parks nearby that you could stay at to save some money, Or check out our host hotel, rooms will be pretty cheap, I was told 79 a night and 3rd night is free!(not 100% sure on price yet, but the price is in the ballpark)

is this a "ROAR" event? or just "ROAR RULES"
cause at $50.00 Clams?
will there be "Prizes",giveaways?,Trophies? etc.?
(T-Shirts those were always cool!)

if running the "Electric Classes"
do you have to run the "Roar Aproved Batteries"
i wouldnt think so? but just asking just in case.

also for pit spaces? there is good room,but if "Allot of People"
Attend (out of State etc.) will there be Alt. places to be able to pit?

and what is the entry limit? 100 drivers? 200? 250

just remembering the Good O'l Battle at the Beach from the Hay Day when Jeff from Pro-Macth ran it !! those were some cool races!!!
be great to see the Battle at the Beach get up there again!!

also good to know on the RV info, that will help
sometimes many may not be aware of it?
and any other info on Hotels?
keep up the good work guys

Ok let me try to cover everything

This is just roar rules, it's not a roar sanctioned race.

T-shirts for every person who enters, Trophies for 1st thru 3rd A-Main, Placks there on down to D main.

I would like to see roar aprooved batteries, since they will be hard cased, and safer, but I'm not going to push the issue.

Pit spacing is limited, but we are going to close off the north parking lot(one by the track) for pit area and parking.

I'm thinking 150 is going to be the cap, and thats alot of people for a smaller track, but should be no problem.

The next closest hotel not hosting is quality inn just outside the park, and they will most likely have plenty of extra rooms.
271 South Lake Havasu Avenue, Lake Havasu City, AZ‎ - (928) 855-1111‎

Rv's are going to be a no go, unless it is a small motorhome, trailers are not allowed in the park(smaller pit trailers you can fit in a parking space will be fine)

No real motor or battery limit on the 1/8 scale stuff. Too much power is bad at our track, you should know that blade....

Jeff Roe will definitely be there to help out and make sure the show runs smooth as well.

I havent run the battle at the beach since 1990...

Blade, there were 4 of us in the room at the hotel that year, wasnt it?

This would be a near impossible pull for me to do, but ya never know....

Jason;

Post rules for Spec SC & Sportsman SC so out of towners know whats up
difference wise between the two class's. IE: what makes a Sportsman SC
different from open & spec SC??

I told the Vegas guys where to find this thread and info.

Thanks for the thread..

Jason;

A few more questions I'm getting about this race from people is:

$50.00 per class: Does this mean no discount for a second or third class?

If no discount for additional class's does that mean if you enter 3 class's
you get 3 tee shirts???

Is there any open practice on Friday at anytime?? and what time is the
last round of practice heats going to close Friday IE: 7PM,8PM,9PM or ??
Some Vegas guys are leaving after work Friday and want to make sure
if they make it to the track by 7PM Friday they can still get some practice
in..

Thanks again Jason

Jason;

One thing seems to be on the mind of many local racers in Havasu including
me.

Will there be a tech table set up by the lap scoring booth for all the cars to
be set on at the end of each heat so the cars stay there while those drivers
corner marshal and the race director can have all the transponders right
there at hand for removal?

This would give the race director total control of corner marshals and
transponder returns at the end of every race...

Thanks

Jason;

I know you said you would check this thread daily to answer any questions
and have been a little slack on that for a few days but when you find time
could you also answer this question also please...

I'm getting calls from local guys saying your allowing cheater trucks in the
Spec SC class in the weekly points series. Theres one 8.5 truck running
every week and several 3300KV brushless trucks racing in Spec and your
not teching them after every race and tossing them out.So I'm being told.

Your rules and the rules all over the country for Spec SC is 17.5 or box
stock brushed motors only in the Spec SC class.

We need the Spec rules spelled out here for the Lake Havasu track so
everyone is on the same page...

Thanks"
