Those batteries should be fine. Before the SCTE came out, most tracks were running 10 minute mains for Pro4. Now, everyone is at 8 minutes or less. You'll get a feel for how many warmup laps you can take before parking it so you can complete the main, lol. Everybody's driving style is different too. Mellen is constantly pinned while other guys are more easy on the throttle. This plays a huge role in battery run time as well. Just make sure your LVC is set and time a run during practice. Run at your normal race pace and see how long they last. Don't worry about your top speed on the straight. Because remember, slower is faster.

Ya Joey decided he is going to start on the track on Monday. Guess he didnt want to work through Superbowl lol.

Anyway so I got to run 2 packs through the SCTE today. For an electric this thing is bad ass! Thanks to Douglas for helping me out a bit with the Tekin hotwire tune. Truck seems to be doing well. I may go to a 13T instead of the 14T though. My motor temps were running about 180 degrees and the truck seems like it could use a little more grunt at take off...though these things may also be affected by the Tekin RX8 settings? I was running the box stock tires too so I am not sure if maybe they just werent getting good traction on take acceleration or what the deal is. Im sure I will get the bugs all worked out soon.

Jay ,

I lowered your timing to minimal , but under your current profile minimal is still 10 degrees , this is what I ran . I can take timing completely out just have to go under a different profile , you will lose some top end but your temps will drop some . I would try new tires first tho , I remember when I ran a 550 motor with stock tires my motor ran like 20 degrees hotter due to wheel spin. When temps start to raise In a month or two you'll def. need to drop a tooth or two on your pinion as your motor temps will rise because the ambient temps rose . Your safe running that motor at 180 just don't go any hotter .

Thanks again Douglas. I was told 170 with a 14T is about the normal with this set up with an ambient air temp of about 80 degrees. So yeah it may just be the stock tires spinning to much. Ill have new tires Monday and I am heading over to FF to meet up with Joey Monday as well so if I can get the tires glued and get over there before he tears into the 10 scale track ill put down a couple laps and see what temps its hitting.

OK so that means racing/practice on Sunday 2/12 would be off the table. There might be a BIG turnout on Thursday 2/9 lol.
