With the 2 Stroke if you didn't hit all of your lines and stay in the power-band you had to roll over where you messed up.
Ohhh, now I see where you were going with your first post, lol. Instant power vs. the power band, haha. Sorry but 4-strokes straight up RIP! As soon as I got my first one in 03, I said bye-bye to mixing gas.

I'm with you Vareck

Although the show is still awesome the sport is not the same with the bikes getting so expensive and all nascar like. What happened to the privateer pitting out of the back of his truck, having to check into the hotel at the last minute so you could take the bike up the elevator and get it into the hotel room. Just living life to make the night show and the 200 bucks that that paid out. That was his gas and entry money for the weekend. It use to mean something to make the night show. In 96 Anaheim had 120 plus 125 riders trying to get in the top 40 that would race in front of 30k plus spectators. I remember being able to jump one of the triples in practice but the other one was not quite do able by the non factory 125 riders and it haunted me all night! It was an epeerience that I will surely never forget.

Like I said it is still an awesome show but definately not the same. And in person you can't even hear the announcer!

oops I let the nostalgia of the whole thing get me rambling, sorry

4 strokes are only good for hare scrambles, we laughed at guys back in the day that tried to race 4 strokes with us.

Actually, I think most guys running hare scrambles are using 2-strokes because they're lighter and easy to whip around trees and tight turns. You go to any moto track and everybody is running 4-strokes because they straight up BARK!

I have been riding dirt bikes my whole life from 50's all the way up.. I rode a CR500 in the dunes for years before I got my first 4 stroke. You couldn't pay me to ride a 2 stroke again!

Vareck if you think two strokes are that bomb just ride a NEW 4 stroke and you will see why everone runs one, they are bad ass!! At the monster energy cup you could run anything you wanted and only one guy from moto concept ran a Yamaha 2 stroke and you couldn't even hear it on the track with the thumpes and it looked like he wished he had his 4 stroke lol. I raced for alot of years and I miss the two strokes and I still like going to the world mini just to watch and smell them. I went to the go Kart race at the Reo hotel and there was not 1 4 stroke all two strokes and the smell was great. The 4 strokes have hurt the sport IMO just because of the price and the maintenance cost. It costs more to do a valve job on a 4 stroke than it takes to keep a two stroke running for a season. Just listen to what he says about the Two Stroke. See you Saturday after supercross foolio, I might miss early entry and come watch you guys race for a few.
