Race was great, super fun layout! Wish I could get back out today and keep running! I hope we can keep the track as-is for club racing, maybe as we get closer to NC we could stretch out the nitro mains to get used to timing for pit stops in longer races.

What a rough day for me. I had to fix both cars twice in 30 minutes to keep them on the tracks. It was a blast though and getting 72 minutes of race time in a 7 hour venue was insane! Kind of dissapointed in the turn out, but everyone who made the show go on did a great job. Thanks to all who made it happen. Looking forward to some good club racing on Joeys layout. Thanks to Tom Stober and Greg Derosa for the pit help and volunteer marshaling while I wrenched on my junk.

Had a great time hanging and enjoying nitro. Had a tough time with the Durango. But would like to thank Casey Peck for the Losi Rent a Ride.

Looks like about 68 nitros and 6 electric made the start, several more may have broke in practice before racing started.

That's a pretty good nitro turnout, and there were some that didn't go because they thought the weather might wash us out in a 1day only race.

Thanks to The Mud crew for all the hard work and sweet layout. Thanks Kenny for running a great show and making all the battles more exciting. Thanks to the Fear Farm owners and crew for giving us a place to tear up the dirt and keep it running! It takes a lot of time out of people's lives to make a good track and event, thanks to all involved.

Looking forward to pictures and videos!

For those of you who missed it, here's a quick vid of the new layout from Friday night complete with rain and everything.

Great time had by all. I qualified well (just missed the A main) and made a couple of mistakes before it even got going, but I'm super glad that I got a B-main top 5. The pro A main was so much fun to watch and marshall...in fact, I never had to get off my ass and chase one of those cars...these guys are that good. Download the race results, and look at their lap times compared to the rest of us. Nitro challenge will have pro mains from A to E or F...

We got all of the elements of the nitro challenge crammed into one day (2 if you practiced) as opposed to 5-6 days. The turnout was smaller, and the jumps were smaller, which was good...there were a few guys running short course, and since the 10th scale track was REALLLY flooded, they were able to race the 8th scale layout without any problems.

Speaking of 10th scale short course, I have to say I'm a little perplexed...Fear Farm has a very strong local group of pro2 and pro4 drivers, week in and week out. There are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more of them than say, 8th scale buggy or truck. There will be MANY short corse drivers from around the world here for the nitro challenge, but sportsmen and experts...guys you read about in the magazines. So many that truck and buggy have different days of qualifying and mains...you could not fit all of either class into one day. I really did expect more of the valley's local hot shots and wanna-be hot shot short course drivers to make the show. trust me, by the time we got going it wasn't muddy.

All in all, an amazing weekend, with lots of faces I haven't seen in a long while, and some new ones, too. The racing was great, the pits were fun to be in, and the competition was fierce. For those who are bored with the current 10th scale layout, we have a large layout now that can be driven by short course trucks, and will be great for 8th scale guys, too. Can't wait for february!

And whoever it was that hacked me on turn 2, thanks a lot

Default Open Truck and Pro Buggy A-Main Videos

So, I recorded both these 20 minute mains. Unfortunately, because I recorded both of them in 1080p HD, one is 3.09GB and the other is 3.00GB. Youtube won't let me upload them because they are too long. Facebook won't let me upload them because they are too large. I will break them up into multiple parts and post links on the Fear Farm R/C Raceway Facebook page.

Time for a new frame for me. My frame flexes so much now, my dog bone popped out of my outdrive twice last night (once it was my fault for screwing around!). I got it popped back in (after 4 minutes so I was out of contention). Oh well, still had fun.

The crazy thing about it was that I ran a 44.2 with my 8Ight-E. Then I ran a 44.3 with my friggin short course truck!

Here's some video of practice Friday night. No edits, so you get to see the car sit on it's lid for a bit. Running pretty safe, but you get to see the track.
