Sold the Novak. I actually replaced the timing end cap and it worked fine with no issues. I thought the 1410 was the ticket and sold to a buddy last night before I didn't know I couldn't go more than 6 minutes.

Batteries fully charged, it took in 3300Mah after each 5 minute heat. I might not know what ESC/Motor combo to get, but I know how to charge a battery.

I have 2 4x4s, a losi and Assoc.

Bought the $240 Novak truhe combination as it was especially made for the heavy truck. Never got more than 3 minute before in went into lock rotor.

Bought a $140 LRP motor in place of the truhe, ran too hot and burned up 3 batteries.

Bought latest and greatest thing to get for the Losi $120 Castle 1410/Sidewinder combo and $130 Mamba Max Pro to run the 1410 motor. Ran for 8 minutes last week dumped as I was coming into the pit. (50C 5600Mah), geared with a 15 pinion, motor @ 136.

Purchased 2 - $140 Xceleron 60C 6000Mah packs for it last night, couldn't get 6 minutes out of it with a 15 pinion, motor @ 133.

So what now, purchase a $130 5.5 motor with a $200 Tekin RX8 ESC?

Might just run the Associated and work to get that thing up to speed or just sell everything.

Thought Nitro was expensive.
If you want to get rid of the SCTE let me know.

Why did you get rid of it then? Because of short run times?

Thought the 1410 was the ticket and my best friend Todd Jonas stole it from me and broke my Associated at the same time.

Did you get to form an opinion about the 14mm rotor in your novak before it went?

Doesn't matter. Apparently, they don't sell those anymore. I sent Charlie, from Novak, an email about them and he informed me it's because of the whole rare earth crap. I think I'm gonna trade in an old tired 4.5 that I have and get a 5.5 to try out. Maybe the Tekin 4-pole. Or, just wait until Novak comes out with a sensored 4-pole. Because you know they will, just a matter of time.

I ran a brand new box stock Losi out of the box with the Truhe system first time on the track and ran 25 flat before it went into locked rotor. It's been downhill ever since. It was a rocket and I wish I had it back. Might just have to buy a new one (oh, they are not available anymore.)

I have found the motor combo and the rotor itself for sale. Just didn't want to spend that kind of money on a rotor....especially with no support for it.

Man what kinda can did I open

I'm all for the 10min mains. Heck even 12min mains are sweet. I really have never hit LVC in any race before due to the fact that I gear my truck right and dont have the timing all jacked up on the esc.

I was just woundering if droping the main down a lill would help out the other guys and Kenny thats all...

Here's my set up if this helps anyone...
Diff's = 5,5,3

Motor = 1410 w/fan geared with a 13 pin. (never above 140) even after 10+ of driving hard. thinking of going to a 14pin. just gotta find one.

ESC = sidewinder w/fan some tweaks here and there but nothing fancy. temps round 120 - 130.

Battery = losi pack 6000mah 60c. At the end of a ten min main I put back about 3700-4500mah

I check for rolling resistance after every run to ensure that theres no bearing getting ready to fail on me or binding going on. Also gear mesh, sometimes these guys move a lill and cause resistance as well.

Had one of my fastest laps (for me) last night 24.7something with an avrg round the mid to high 25's. not bad for a guy that only drives a total of 40min a week
