What are the 17.5 and 13.5 rules for cactus? I have a Fanton Ion v4 and would like to run it. Will I be able to?

They go by the ROAR list so if it's approved you're good.

As far as tech goes.

2 years ago:
Full out-of-car motor tech the night before qualifying started. Had to bring in any motor you intended to use, they tested several things, KV, stator, Rotor (No bigger than 12.5 mm rotors allowed.) All inspected motors were marked with nail polish on the screws and end bells so you could see if it had been tampered with.

It was awesome, nobody could cry about motors, everyone had been checked. Just race. The waiting in line for tech that night sucked, and I cant imagine how much that sucked for Adam, he was sitting there in the hobby shop teching motors for like 5 hours. But I still think it was a good thing for the event. Anything you can do to take peoples excuses off the table in advance is good in my book.

Last year:
No motor tech whatsoever. lol I think they just had so much going on getting ready to move there was no time for that so they just went on the honor system.

So ofcourse, people complained. I guess it always comes down to the track organizers trying to decide what is worse, the hassle of doing tech or the hassle after not doing it. lol

I hope they tech this year, but I'm good either way. Just IMHO.

Hope racers are busy preparing for the Cactus,

I see they have some kind of map/pic up on the face book page about the reserved pits. Haven't heard much more about it. Anyone have more info on that?

Second thing. Is/has anyone been running gear diffs in the wheeler class there, and if so how have those been working out there? Just got some for the wheeler and was thinking they could be a good thing to have there for Cactus if they'll work for there.

Anyway, hope to see everyone there soon.

A lot of misinformation around...

Some of it's being ironed out.

I called yesterday, and an employee at the shop didn't know they were doing reserved pit spots.

The verbiage on Facebook says, "Good all weekend" for reserved pit spots...Does that mean on Tuesday it's saved for you also, or just Saturday/Sunday?

No answer on if the slot car back area will be open pitting.

No answer on if the Lawn and Garden center will be open pitting.

I did however get an answer on rules, and that it WILL be ROAR rules for 17.5 blinky class. A motor must be on the Approved motor list to be ran.

Awesome. I might run up this weekend and have a look. Is there racing this weekend or did everyone quit for the Superbowl?

Hm, wonder if those cmu columns are structural or if they're decorative, just wrapping a steel column on the inside?

I was told they planned on removing the decorative stuff around the poles, but they may be a no go for some reason.
