Am buying a transponder and will be racing at SRS hobby town and W3 Will the mylaps Rc4 3 wire work at these tracks or do I need to get the hybrid. Looks like the 3 wire does more and is less but is not backwards compatible or can only be read on a Rc4 decoder

That is correct, the older transponder will work but not the newer 4 wire for S.R.S. it will however work at W3.

Default Protek Ti screw sets

I got my screws and they seem to be of pretty decent quality. The finish looks better than some of the cheaper ones on the market. The baggies were nicely labeled, so it made finding the screws very easy for swapping out. I was replacing cheapy Ti screws with these, so I didnt bother to weight the before and after. I was mainly going for rust proofing my car for our indoor tracks. Might as well drop a little weight while I was at it for stock.

Finally found some vid footage of the new place,

Not sure why it was so hard to find, but track looked pretty good. It was the old layout I think, the vid I watched was from 8/10. Looking forward to making the Cactus next year for sure.

As far as I know, yes,

Same week as the ASU Spring Break. March 8-15 or 9-16, which ever is that week, with the event starting on that Thursday (unless you come early for Practice on that Tuesday and Wednesday).

I'll be out in phx on vacation in 2 weeks. I was thinking of stopping by the new track. I was wondering what tires I'll need to run for buggy? We run clay dirt webs/typos at my local track (trackside in milw). What's the big race day at srs? Lastly, is there a 4x4 sc class?was thinking of bringing that too. Thanks in advance!

Clay slicks for buggy (homemade) and clay sc tires for 4x4 truck, but that is not a very popular class. Might get stuck in with mod SC

Been pretty quiet on this thread for a bit,

Hoping that means that people are busy racing at the new location.

Hope all is well down there. Been checking this thread and the SRS sites pretty often and not a ton of new things posted.

Seeing that slicks are the preferred way to go for the new place. JC is supposedly making their own for just such a place as the new location.

Did see a new pic of some of the Panther slicks in the shop posted up. How are racers liking those and are most opting for the Clay compound with those or a different compound?

In my preparation for next years cactus, I'm thinking of maybe picking up some of the factory slicks offered and of course having some of my own "made" ones.

Know of a number of local or semi local guys planning on making the trip down for the cactus, so if they can get up to speed sooner it may help them out.

Thanks for any help and can't wait for it to be March of next year yet. LOL.

Saw a new pic posted up in the SRS Facebook page,

More Panther Slicks.

As to my pervious question, are the racers opting for the Panther slicks going with the Panther "Clay" compound or a soft?

Most of the guys are still making slicks. There are a few guys using the panther clay slicks and liking them. JC says Rivkin has been testing out the JC slicks at SRS, so that is an option once they are out.

Thanks Wildcat,

I'm going to guess that many that went the Panther route did so because they wouldn't have to "make" their own slicks?

Of those that have been making their own, are most sticking with the clay compounds or playing with soft compounds?

I did hear that JC had a little something brewing, saw Jason mention it in a vid he did for the B5. Didn't say which compound(s) they were testing, but specifically mentioned SRS, so if they get them done it time, they'll be on the list to pick up or look at picking up.
