I talked to Adam a few weeks ago. He said the "restaurant" was probably going to be a Fall thing. The food/alcohol permit will take much longer than dirt with bumps

Any word on the possibility of an on road track at the new srs? I called and asked about a month ago and whoever I talked to said they probably would have one by the end of the summer. Really hope they do I have always wanted a touring car but never had a local track

Default Best Wishes

Best wishes to all the Hobbytown SRS personnel working to get the store and track open.

I truly understand the amount of hard work to get that size of enterprise open and running.

There has been nothing but "talk" about this new track for over a year and half, either open it already or don't. Seems to me and many others that the main focus of this new facility is go karting anyway.

For those of you who don't know, it can take some time time to get construction permits, it can take a lot of time (months) to even get to the point of submitting plans the City, and then the City can take up to 30-45 days to review, then you have to make corrections and re-submit and another 30-45 days and hopefully no new issues come up with the plans and they are approved. Then construction begins which also can take a lot of time.

It will open, it just takes time (and money, lots of it!).

This is true. Building Departments can be very difficult. In fact a lot of time they make it a point to be. Especially on projects that have gray areas in the code such as an RC race track / Go cart track / retail store (hobby shop) They call that a mixed use project in fact these "uses" are not really even covered in the building code (except the retail part). So its left up to their interpretation of what they think it should be. Its not like building a House or Office building where everything in the code is black and white. I am as anxious as anyone but I understand what they are going through.

Default New Track

Eric

I know it will get done. City of Phoenix can create some grey hair for a remodeled structure. I know from personal experience.

But like all racers I want my stuff yesterday.

But I am confident that Adam and all those who are assisting him will create a first class facility including RC.

Best wishes to all

Eric

Once upon a time I poured a lot of money in to a Biltmore remodel.
I have the scars from the delays on permitting.
Then the housing market crashed.
I have some personal experience with building.

Have a great day
