10 heats of electric was pretty impressive.
It was great to see so many people out there, especially with no nitros.
And I disagree that is too small for eighth scale... As long as you can drive, its fine.
8th was banned at srs only a few years ago, but that was before it got really big.

I used to race on and off road Nitro at SRS back when Scott owned it. Nitro was never banned from either track, and neither was 8 scale, it was .21 or larger engines that Scott didn't want. He felt that they tore up the track too much, and ruined it for the electric guys. Some of us actually put .18's in our 8 scale stuff, just so we could run em there. Once the Nitro Pit opened most of us went there to race, but the new owners opened the track to 8 scale Nitro with .21 and .28 engines and it's awesome. I know I speak for all of us Nitro guys when I say we are appreciative that you electric hard core guys are sharing that track with us. It's a pain in the butt to drive all the way to Wittman from the east side to practice.
Chris, thanks for the help with my starter box this afternoon. JAZ

Pretty sure Scott never owned the track. The mitchells did. Scott didnt want 1/8ths when i raced, and having one I tried to. He would get mad if we ran them on the track. I used to race nitro truck so obviously nitro was never banned either, nor did i say it was.

Never said you did, sorry for the misunderstanding. I was referring to 8 scale as that was what wasn't allowed, but it wasn't so much the scale, as it was the larger engines. I thought Scott was the owner since he was always the only one I saw there, and he called the races and made the rules, and then when I heard the track was sold a couple years ago, scott was gone, so I just assumed. he did let a few of us run 8 scale buggies with .traxxas 2.5 engines, but they were kinda lame. A few of us converted to the smaller engines so we could run em there, never raced just runnin around the track, he told us it was the engines more than the buggies he was concerned about. That was a long time ago though, and I am the sole survivor in the Nitro RC hobby of the group, as 2 moved east and 1 just quit cause of the $$$$$. I still love runnin there, and its awesome now that true 8 scale is welcome....well, welcome by the owners...I know most of the electric guys hate it.

ACTUALLY.... 1/8's were not allowed till about 4-5 years ago. Then Scott said you could put an .18 in them and you could run against the Monster Trucks... So you are both right in a way....
When Dawn and I bought SRS from Emmitt, we started allowing 1/8 with .21 and when the first AZ series race was held there, after it was over James and I were walking the track to see the damage and found out that the 1/8's actually smoothed and grooved the track at SRS after 118 1/8 scales ran all day on the track.
