So they are moving 10 minutes from W3? How lame is that, I dont get why tracks are all moving together like this here. Its just bad business practice having to fight for customers in locations 10 minutes apart like that.

So we have fear farm, W3 and soon SRS all 10 minutes from one another. Brilliant

Maybe we can get Competition Hobbies to move in 1H's old space (maybe take over the suite next door as well), so we have even MORE options within that 10 minute circle jerk of R/C? At least Paddocks is more like 15 minutes away.

If somebody wants to be really successful, open up a outdoor track in the east valley

Very good point though. Made no sense to open a track earlier this year right next to an existing one. The same thing will happen though. It's a vicious circle. People will go to the new SRS now since it will be a larger track and will have more than RC stuff to do.

And that means those businesses will go under, thus making for less tracks for racers to compete at. It would be nice if they were spread out.

Correct!
But I guess we'll just have to wait and see the outcome.

There are plenty of racers in the valley and days in the week, there is no reason if done right that 2 indoor tracks within a 10 minute/mile radius can not both do well.

I am sure those involved with SRS would like everyone to stop making speculation on what they might bring/do until a formal announcement is made. Lets just wait to see what is in store and enjoy it when it comes.

Just my $.02

They kinda brought it on themselves. They need to watch who they "leak" stuff to because it ends up on the interwebs. So if they don't want us to speculate, they should be a bit more careful about who they tell "stuff" to. One of the local sponsored guys seems to be told everything by the boys at SRS and then he'd show up at 1H and tell everyone what's going on. LOL It wasn't BS either because he seemed to always be right weeks later. Some people just want to be in the know and how they demonstrate they're in the know is by blabbing to everyone about it.

Does anyone know if the name will change ? Having a big multi-venue site could be a real good time. They could combine the car track and RC track, your time on the cart track moves you up or down for the mains on the RC track. Run 10 laps on the RC track than run 10 on the cart track, fastest 50 laps wins. Lots of possibilities. It would for sure bring the RC sport to a larger crowd than normally would see it. If it's going to a family oriented facility, with lots of kids, I could see some them saying, "mom, I want an RC car !" It could be big. Bring it on !
