Unless something has changed yes. Tire wear is ridiculous though, brand new double dees on all my cars and 5 minutes they were as slick as on road tires...

Yeah I cant afford that, shame the track is now a sand paper strip.

Default Track

Folks

I would assume that the SRS track will be going back to being run wet.

With a few waterings the sugar that made the track so abrasive will wash down below the surface and we will be back to the usual track conditions.

Might give the shop a call and verify that the sugar has been washed down.

Just my thoughts.

Well said Martin. Throw in a few rains and the never ending supply of hungry ants we have here in the desert and I predict the sugar will soon be a memory. Super stoked to race this coming Wed, it's been too long for me.
Tip of the day: Practice on your old tires unless the track is wet for the near future.

It's sort of amazing to think the sugar has lasted this long. The other thing I noticed is how well the dust stayed down as a result of the sugar. Maybe there's some nuggets of wisdom from all this. Maybe not so much sugar but a little could go a long way on a regular basis (i.e. once a month). It could save on water, get through racing quicker, more of the lane has traction instead of just the groove, etc.

From what Mike said on Wednesday when i was there it may take about two weeks before the track gets back to normal.

Though the traction is insane, the tire wear is too. I'll pass on a set of tires not even lasting a night. Hope it gets back to normal ASAP.
