Since you have a few days before you can see Humpty, go through your truck. Make sure nothing is dragging, lagging or binding, go through ALL of your bearings, make sure your wheels are spinning freely, make sure your gear mesh is set propery (the motor can move), make sure your slipper is set properly, etc.

I wouldn't get caught up in the whole wheelie thing either, that could be as simple as another truck having a better set-up and better traction than you or hitting a bump perfectly on the straight while on power, the possibilities are endless.

That being said, if you get your truck squared away, with out a doubt humpty will get your speedo squared away
Perhaps I shouldnt have used the wheelie thing as an example. I have difficulty clearing the last hump before the 180 into the straight away, and I could never even think about clearing the triple even if I had a good run at it.

So after reading all this garbage about heat issues, blowing motors, mod vs. stock, spec class etc. it made me realize just how much I REALLY miss electric racing .

I am thinking about getting back into electric and was looking at ESC's and I am confused as heck.

I think I want the RS Pro, or the Novak Kinetic. I know guys that run both, and of course both think they are the best thing out. Is it a close your eyes and pick a hand type thing, or is one really better than the other?

Thanks
Dave

They "feel" different no matter how much you play with the settings. At the end of the day it comes down to what feels the best to you. It's kinda like asking what's better? A blonde, brunette or a ginger.

If you go orange and want help, just ask...

You guys look up as far as the hairline?

In the very olden days, I used to run Tekin. (Pre-internet days) I was going to be brand loyal and stick with them but the opportunity came up to get a Kinetic for a decent deal. I jumped on it and thusfar, haven't been sorry. It seem to have way more adjustments than what I need at my skill level and with only mild timing advance seems more than fast enough on the back straight at SRS.

This isn't a good example but I will say I noticed how smooth it was compared to the standard "spec" novak esc.

I've yet to try a Tekin RS. At the rate I go through parts it's not a stretch to see one in my future. But what would I do with all my cool Novak stickers then?

Most of the folks @SRS seem very willing to help/chat about this hobby. I'd be willing to bet that they'd even let you take their RC for a spin. If I'm not broken, feel free to ask me.

Big thanks to Humpty for the setup last night. Drove real nice and my temps definitely came down. After the 10 minute main I came off the track at 165/135(he'll know what that means), haha. Last race I was 30 degrees hotter! I gave Tim a setup sheet to fill out for me but was so tired by the end of the night I forgot to get it from him. And man, that Pro4 class was stacked!
