if you are just beginning, you will have to run in the novice class which is 13.5 motor limit..you can run in pro2...but they run 10.5...but you can run any vehicle in novice ..and that is probably the class for you to run..

Why isn't there a novice class? I can barely control a 17.5 motor.

There is a Novice class...

He has two options with the SCT's;
1-race novice
2-race Pro2

As someone who last raced long before brushless came about (back around 2000-01)...how useless is a 13.5 going to be if/when I move from novice to Pro-2?

The bug has bitten me again and I'm also waiting on the next SC10 to lay down some money on new gear, but since I literally have one off-road race ever under my belt and that was probably 15 years ago, I'm guessing I'll at least be shaking off the rust in Novice for a while...but being cheap I'd like to try and get as much use out of a 13.5 as possible. Obviously I'm not going to win any A-mains with it but I can at least hope that it isn't a guaranteed last-place finish, right?

Yes, I know cheap and R/C don't go very well together

Seems like about a 9-year itch for me...started in 1/12 in the early '90s, then touring cars around '00-'01, and now I want a SC10 like nobody's business.

u can run 13.5 in pro 2..it wont really be that far off...its actually easier to drive...i would bet that a lot of people would run faster with 13.5 than witha 10.5..myself included

Will the new track be run dry or wet before the Cactus during club racing?

13.5 can be perfectly competitive in Pro-2 I've even witnessed someone win Pro-2 with a rtr right out of the box only thing they changed was tires.

Martin- track will be ran wet until first practice day for cactus, the more water we get in the track the better it will be for the race.
