truck is just going through a funk right now.. it WAS the most competitive class for like 6 months.

There will be plenty of competition and entries in 10.5 truck at the states...

Unfortunately i have to race the JBRL finals so i wont be there.

Default Batteries

I just looked at the SRS rules that went into effect 6/1/09 and was wondering if they will they not let me run if I don't have hard case Li-Po's? I will be running strictly NOVICE with my T4. I will be bringing up the rear every race as I am still sharpening my racing skills, but I want to make sure that I don't show up with a battery that I cannot use. Anybody? Suggestions for hard-case packs once I get the cash would be great! Thank you. Also, are there good non-lipo packs that you can suggest, probably 2 packs, to get through only the novice races? I can probably spend about $150-170 on batteries.

Yes we only allow hard case lipos at SRS. We decided to switch over to hard case for safety issues. If you are interested in purchasing a good hard case lipo we have the Thunder Power 5400 25C for $89.99 and the Thunder Power 5000 40C for $129.99

Are Li-Po sacks really mandatory? That's the way it sounds in the rules. I have a high dollar FMA 10S charger and have charged my airplane packs in a covered clay pot for many years without issue. I had planned to continue this method when I finally make it out to race the Slash spec class. I've already spent a ton of money in preparation. Yet another expense is gonna hurt. As far as the safety factor goes I'll take my clay pot over a Li-Po sack any day.

Default Thunder Power 5400 25c

Do you think one TP 5400 25C battery, charging between heats, would get me through race night if I only ran Novice class?

It's all good. I forgive Jarrel for trying to ruin my car, take me to the wall twice, T bone me, and completley disregard that I was actually racing out there, and run me off the track, and run me off the track.

I mean seriously, havn't we all now and again felt the need to get plastered drunk, show up with our new SC8's, and just felt the need to ram into anything and anyone that was trying to race just to see what would happen? It could happen to anyone.

That "funk" is the SCT. You, Dad, and Wheelie really need to inject some enthusiasm over there in the Losi Camp. The Losi Strike guys. Don't fight the feelings. The Pro2 class could be the most competitive/fun class if some of you faster guys would pony up. I mean the Dad has been racing that same ol truck since like 1972 or something.

Anyhoo, just blabbing. Don't go flyin' off the handle for me making a suggestion now.

Saturday's are hit or miss for me at SRS. If I can make it, count me in for TRUGGY.

More Slash spec class questions:

What kind of gearing for this track with stock motor and with brushless? My stock motor looks to be in great shape but I just fell into a killer deal on a Novak GTB/13.5T package that I'll most likely run with. From the pictures I've seen of the track it looks short and tight. I'm guessing a few less teeth on the pinion?
Thanks,

Joe
