from Michael Skeen owner of Thunder RC

OK...

Here is the deal on the Warm up race friday night Dec. 28th before the state race.

It will be a 2 heat and a main race. all entries friday night will be $10 (no discount for 2nd class) since we are only running 2 and a main just in case more than the usual crowd shows up.

We WILL close the doors within 30 minutes of the last main being run Friday night. So if you are going to pack up your stuff then you have to be out within 30 minutes. Or you can leave your stuff setup for saturday if you are coming back....

the only thing I recommend is that if you aren't planning on showing up first thing bring a towel and lay it over your stuff that way it will be obvious if someone is messing with it. most of our local guys will keep an eye on things for us, but this just makes it easier to keep people honest.

We will be marking the tables in 4 foot wide x 2' deep spots. EVERYONE must pit within the 4x2 foot spaces that means length AND depth don't push your stuff over the halfway mark of the table.

IF we get to noon on saturday and we still have pit spots open then you can spread out.

Thanks

Michael Skeen

the 8th scale main was awesome up front anyone had a shot and then the
bottom fell out and poor alan, ross, carey all dropped out...

Just to let you guys know we just posted our calendar for the month at
thunder.rc50.com

We will be having another big race on February. 23rd.
we will be opening at 7am and start at 11am. that should get us out
by midnight at the latest.

I'll be working on getting some additional money put up for that
race. I'm working on a different pay structure etc.

we'll be working on the track to save my pipes and your cars as well
over the next couple of weeks. got a couple ideas.

I REALLY want to thank everyone for coming out you have no idea how
much it helps us out when you support us. We basically only get 4
months of the year to cover rent for the entire year and although we
never break even and I have help from robert, tim, and my own pocket
to keep the place going.

It really helps us out so thanks to everyone.
I want to thank Robert for an awesome job announcing. MOST everything
went smooth and I couldn't do it without him. My dad for helping in
the shop so I could race too. My mom and bro for working concessions
free help doesn't come along often but I am PAYING for it trust me LOL

thanks to aaron, dan, and chris for all the work on the track to keep
it going. scott and donald for sweeping and watering the track.

Mike Blick for volunteering to pit/marshall half the races and field
even when he didn't race your my new hero LOL

We will also try to have a smaller payout cash race in january I want
to say it will be the last week in january but I'll let you guys know
what I come up with ASAP.

I know we had a few problems, but I think overall this was the best
run race we've had with that many people.

We are going to try and do something to help in practice next time
too... although the rotation worked there were too many cars on the
track at once. We will try to cycle people on and off in intervals
next time to get everyone track time and hopefully less broken parts.

Please let me know if you can think of anything else we can do to help
make it a better race (Within reason LOL we are only human. sort of...)

thanks again
Michael

111 entrees and 64 races I only screwed up about 3 times I think. sorry to all that I did mess up your race on.

I would just like to remind all the nitro people that we lock 6 in the 8th classes and 8 in the 10th classes and bump 2. I remember saying it several times but then it was noisey in the pit room I'm sorry to the guy that didn't bump after finishing second in an 8th main. this is nitro only no bumps in electric. we ARE running IFMAR STARTS in the QUALIFING which means that you are on your own clock so when the buzzer goes off you don't all go at once. you go one at a time. first round in the 12345 order that is on the heat sheet then in a 54321 order, and for the third round as you qualified in the heat resort. YOU the driver need to know YOUR position that you are in and only go out in ORDER. don't screw up someone elses race. Also don't crowd the line on the qualifing start it might cause you to miss a lap and I'm not putting it back.

I would also like to say that we run all the mains like we do one after another so that the electric guys don't marshall the longer nitro mains. if we ran all the "A"s at the end this would happen. we have to keep MOST happy and this format seems to keep most of the people happy. yes you could bump from the "D" "C" and "B" into the "A" but I doubt it on our track as tight as it is. that is only 60 minutes worth of running and if you are that good you probably would up ended up higher anyway. also I would rather have the "B" gas drivers marshall the "A" gas drivers and not the "A" novice gas drivers. and remember some drivers might be in the "A" in 2 classes that still puts them back to back. yes this gives the person that bumps an advantage as they just ran but it will just have to continue this way till we have a bigger nitro entree at our races.

remember that the results.... and all the results for all thunder rc dirt races will be posted, Heats and all to http://results.rc50.com I know it's not live rc but that cost money this is free!

happy new year everybody

If you were not there you missed a great race. I think there is going to another in Feb. The 23rd I think. The weekend after Valentines. So buy your wife or girl something nice so you can go racing the next week.
