What are you guys using to edit STLs? Are you editing as a mesh, of converting?

I guess it depends on how complicated the edit would be. Many times if its simple stuff I'll just make the edit in TinkerCAD.

I have owned my own CAD/CAM software for over 20 years.. I have mills and lathes and routers I run , so it was required .. So I design in my cad software ( BobCadCam V26)and like vertebreaker I just use tinker cad for quick edits of existing stls.. I tried using mesh programs like blender and meshmixer etc, but I just dont care for them for mechanical parts .. for organic sculptures the mesh editing is awesome, but for mechanical pieces I prefer to design my own so I have the step file for quick accurate mechanical edits..

That's kinda the boat I'm in. Most parts I redraw in Fusion, but there are times I see the value in just modifying a mesh.

I'll give TinkerCAD a try, thanks.
