2018 ROAR Carpet Onroad Nationals Final Race Results

Event covered by Matt LeMay, RCTech – 2018

The best drivers from all over the Nation came together to compete in the 2018 ROAR Carpet On-road Nationals this past week/weekend, March 8-11. The event was held at APEX Raceway & Hobbies located in Murfreesboro TN. APEX is an almost 24,000 sq. ft. facility with a 96’x48′ indoor on-road carpet track, 42’x86′ off-road carpet track, slot car track, large furnished pit area, rest room facility, lounge with TV and Xbox, and a stocked hobby shop. The owner of this large facility is Eric Anderson, who took home a 2nd place overall win in 17.5 Touring Car and a 10th place overall in 13.5 1-12th Scale. Congratulations Eric for the wins as well as hosting a successful event.

I was lucky enough to be able to attend the event and meet many of the drivers that were competing. There was not only fierce competition, but lots of friendly conversation. Each driver represented their teams in a positive and professional manner. These are a bunch of friendly top tier drivers who are REALLY good at what they do, competitively racing RC cars.

Many of the drivers at the event took the time to talk on camera about what they were running and how their weekend was going. These interviews will be posted in a separate article later this week, along with videos of the A-Main races.

In this article I’ve included the final results of each class, along with podium shots.

I’d like to say congratulations to all the drivers who attended the event. Job well done gentlemen! This was a very successful ROAR National race. I’d also like to give a special thanks to not only the drivers, but also to Eric Anderson (owner of Apex Raceway & Hobbies), and all of the ROAR officials for making me feel welcome. I really appreciate all the help you extended to me. Thank you guys!

About Author

I built my 1st real RC vehicle in 1986 and have enjoyed this hobby ever since. I like all RCs, cars, trucks, boats, planes, helis, etc. I think every RC vehicle has its place, whether it be toy grade or hobby grade. They’re all fun to me, but the best part about this hobby is the people I’ve met and friendships I’ve made. But hey, enough about me. Share your background in the comment section of this article.
