Crystals are slowly becoming a thing of the past. One of the more popular radios, the Airtronics M8,
is now available without the expense and hassle of frequency crystals.
Features
Designed for use with the Airtronics M8 transmitter
Availability of all 30 75Mhz frequencies with the turn of a dial.
FCC Approved
Narrow Band PPM Transmission
Perfect to use with the Novak XXtra receiver.
Installation
The installation could not have been any easier. Squeeze the finger tabs, and remove the M8 transmitter
module from the back of the transmitter. Next, Insert the Switch, being sure to have the module lined up
with the pins. Then, select which frequency you wish to use by turning the two finger dials. The left
dial is for the first digit, the dial on the right is for the second digit.
At the Track
After using one frequency with my new M8 for several months, the Novak Switch was a very welcome change.
Being a pervious Lynx 3D/Spectra & XXtra combo owner, crystal-less operation was nothing new to me. There
is nothing better than writing "any 75mhz" on the track sign-up sheet, and being able to grab any available
frequency clip at large events, with a crowded driver’s stand. The Switch / XXtra worked flawlessly on each
frequency I used.
The Verdict
The Novak Switch definitely has a good bang for the buck ratio. The Switch gives you 30 frequency channels,
for the cost of 4 crystal sets. When used with the Novak Xxtra receiver, it removes the long waits for a
frequency clip, giving you more track time, and removes the hassle of frequency conflicts. I definitely
recommend the Novak Switch to all M8 owners.
