OK. I called Fleet Farm and they have 40x60 ft tarps for 79.95 each. I figure 4 of those will cover the off road track. That comes to $320. We still need blocks to hold them down.
Are you guys willing to do a special fund raising race say on a Saturday in August at say $15 per car, no extra discounts for additional cars, so we can get 4 tarps to cover the track like the oval? Next time you go to the track, just lift up on of the oval tarps and see how it traps the moisture in the clay.
How about it Bob . Would that be cool with you?
Or maybe some of you guys out there know of some old tarps a construction company want to give up or donate. Lets here it. We dont have much time to advertise it, so it needs to happen soon if that is whats going to happen.
Let me know on this thread what you think of that fund raising race idea. Just trying to help, not just complain. Chuck

Default Race?

Count me in on a special race any time. Maybe we could make the entry fee a donation of any amount the participants are willing to shell out. Also Blocks are about .95 cents each and if anyone has the time they could solicit area businesses for small prizes like you used to for your truck race Chuck????

sounds good to me, when you want to do this? Who has a schedule of what other race days are already planned?

I didnt go to local bussiness. I hit up Traxxas, Novak , Proline and RPM, all of which were happy to help. But there isnt enough time for that kind of communication. We wernt racing trucks either. It was electric and nitro sedans. That was a long time ago. I think you remember the trucks from the Traxxas Stampedes we got for the benefit race we held in conjuction with the sedan races, involving local celebs.
I guess I was thinking August 20th or 27th. Sept 3rd might be a bad weekend to expect people to come being its Labor Day weekend. Tmes ticking for such a late decision. Lets hear from interested participants.

I'm still in for the 13th with my Pede.

I'd be able to come again on the 20th. I'd pay $15 race fee and probably an additional donation. I don't need anything in return: trophies, prizes, raffles. This is a good chance to help out my track and make it better for everyone. If it can't be on a day I can race, you can count on me for a donation anyway.

I think the timing needs to be such that we can still have Oval racing in the evening.

Hmmmm, I'd take a piece of that also. All those big guys getting beaten by the young lady.

And if Sara Ernst comes up to run in 1/8 scale, could be a very interesting day for the female racers, watching all those grown men cry.

Default special

No changes planned on the AUG 13TH race.
The best way to the track is Hwy 41 to Hwy 26. Turn left at stop sign. Cross the bridge and turn right on the frontage road (by the porn shop). Follow that down whating to the left. It is about 3/4 mile to a mile on the left.
See you there.

I think that I will attend this event. I usually race in lomira, offroad, not oval "even though they have a big, flat, one"

I have a hybrid "NOT A TRUGGY!!" Can I race in the monster truck class

Is there any electric classes? I have a T4 setup for the larger outdoor offroad tracks, I usually with the nitro stadiums at the lomira track also with my T4. Just wondering if there will be something for electric 1/10th stadium's?

And yesss Water that thing!! I'll ask for my money back and I'll leave if it doesn't get watered, I've done it before, and I'm not afraid to do it again. Tires are not cheap, and when you have power to turn all 4 of them at will. a hard surface IS NOT something you want to be driving on!!!!

As long as everything works out I'll be showing up with my hybrid and T4 on 13th. See you guys there.

OH, Is there anyone that has any LSP's yet? Do you guys throw the truggies into the buggy class? I've see that at some tracks and that is total BS!! it's a monster truck as is the hybrid. Just curious. I've heard of some things going on up there that I thought were BS. But I have no personal experience. So I want to give it a shot. and a larger race like this seems to be it.

Jackyl

The track will get water per popular demand and if you look at the above flyer (can you not bring it up? lmk) we will cater to whatever classes show plus our regular classes. No trucks do not belong with buggies and if we break down the class I think 15 class monster and 21 class monster would work but only if we have a good turnout of both. I have over 60 trophies prepped for this event and we are giving away racer door prizes and over $3000.00 worth of raffle prizes, including a Adam Drake 2 kit and a evader ready to run truck. We will also be racing the friday night race before the BIG ONE on Saturday which has a rain date of Sunday. See ya there
