Carl and all USGT racers....

This is the tire that we are waiting to see if we can get imported and with reasonable ease. At this point if USGT racers want these can be ordered via the web and you can race them in the series. For the series rules I want to keep it with any treaded tire...but I would like to make this tire be the spec tire but we need to make sure we can get them from a US distributor. The tires come unmounted and you need to use the supplied insert. They are also 24mm tire so you would need to get your own 24mm rim. We are looking to get the tire maybe mounted or with rims. If you raced the Scale nats in 2012 this was the hand out tire and it works great on carpet....if you still have these tires they are also legal. Once I have more info I will let everyone know I would much rather have the racers get these from The Track than the website so if you can wait for more word please do if not here is the link to buy them.

I'm trying to get the details of this worked out, but it's looking good. If it all goes right, it will be the spec tire for USGT in the national rules, like the HPI is for trans Am. It would be official Jan 1, 2014 for USVTA USGT. Obviously, Kevin will make his rulings for the Hurricane Series.

Thanks Rob for the update!

If they do end up being the national tire rule We will follow the rules but at this stage as it gets closer to the season I will not stop anyone from using up their older tires that they already have in the series. If you are looking to buy some new tires try to get some of these if you can wait. If not I understand and we will be following the any 24 or 26mm treaded tire rule for this year.

What about maybe starting in like June 2014? That would be one last carpet season. Not just 90 days... I know, not everyone will be happy.

Snowy.

I agree thats why if the rule takes effect I will not make it one of the series just more of a rule to look towards when buying new tires.

I understand but at some point there needs to be a date. Not only that, as Kevin said, he will not be holding you to use the tires for this series. Mostly I would like to have these tires for the Scale Nats. Again, everything is not 100% confirmed or ready yet, so if things get pushed back, the date will get pushed back too. I would just like to have a tire that is a good value and readily available.
