Default Belleville Il. R/C Track

Would anyone be interested in starting an off-road track in Belleville? I want to know how many people would be interested so I can take it up with the city.

Good luck with getting something started. I grew up there and it was always a challenge to get something going. The city may be more open to something now but I can't say for sure. Might want to look into putting something in next to the skatepark/bmx track on N. Illinois St.

When I fist moved to Belleville, a track was by the skate park. I think the city took it down soon after I moved in. I dont know who to contact to ask permission.

My guess would be the city parks district manager. Might take a couple of calls to get to the right person.

There are several tracks an easy drive from you if that doesn't work out. Collinsville/Marysville, Dirtburners in Kirkwood, SMAC in St. Charles. I've been to Dirtburners and SMAC, both are good places.

Good luck!

I have been to all of them but I want something like "in my own backyard". Not literally though

Many have tried, Collinsville is on the way out. I started going to dirtburners about 3yrs ago. The stl racing is much better too than cville. But cville will always be my home track.

Well collinsville is going but I have/will be stepping it up. If you check out the thread, I came up with a "chain of command" to help it get more organized. I would really hate to see the track and club go. I believe it is the only track around to race on Sundays. So please, support your local hobby shops and tracks. You never know when you could loose them for good. I think that is what happened to the belleville track. And besides collinsville only races 2 days a month. I think it would be awesome to see you and your friends show up. Track is an easy layout for beginners...and for pros to just destroy everyone else. So go and encourage your friends from Dirtburners to come and give it a few weeks. I will see if they can get some event going. I think that would be pretty cool.
