Default AJ's Raceway (Intense Raceway Park)

Is this place open. I go to school at NIU in Dekalb, IL and one of the bus drivers wheres a hat for this place. I asked him about it but when I tried to search it everything said it was closed.

AJ's closed in 2005. They tried to make another run out of the place and renamed it Intense Raceway Park. They didn't last long either.

Supposedly the track now has semis parked on it, or semi trailers or something. I have heard a lot of stories, but it may be some sort of truck repair facility now??

Faron5M if you get a chance to drive by, tell us what you see. It's only about 10 minutes from campus.

EDIT: Looks like the stories were true...

Bummer. I know there's an off-road track in Sycamore but i think its outdoors. Was looking for something inside for the school season. I race dirt oval and the closest track is in Monroe, Wisconsin.

Before the change over to a rectangle asphalt track to handle 1/4 scale & down... =

Probably closer to 2000, as the off road track is in this pic...
