2013 NorthCentral R/C Club Racing @ Marshall R/C Park
2013 Race Season is POSTPONED until further notice!!!
I just received a phone call from Wayne and it came with some bad news..
It turns out that after some discussion with his insurance company, Kieth has decided to shut down the offroad track........
The officers are scurrying to find a replacement track for us to run on. If anyone knows of a place or has access to land that can be worked into a new track, PLEASE LET THEM KNOW.
We do already have a scoring system and the machinery to move dirt if needed.

Gonna try and make it to the meeting. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Hopefully there's a decent turnout. Is that a race day for the Wausau group?

If we get enough trucks we will run them seperate. If we don't we will run them together. We had a couple of guys last year that could wheel a 2wd just as fast as the 4wd guys, its all about setup.

Start posting possible track designs for this year!
Last year everyone had some awesome designs. Lets see some more!

Won't be able to make it to the meeting, after all. Too much stuff going on at home with a different project to be able to miss a Saturday.
Kinda cool design from Jasen. Is he going to be running a 1/8 E-buggy this year?
Really looking forward to May!

Here's another idea. I've shown potential routes for 1/10 classes that would bypass some of the more wide open areas with the monster jumps that would be geared more towards the 1/8 buggies/truggies. I made this one up a few years ago before I learned that moving the starting gate and AMB loop were not really options, and I'm assuming that's still the case. The AMB loop and starting gate could be left where they are now with this layout, too. Keith also mentioned that he doesn't want crossover jumps for safety reasons, correct?
There were lots of other good ideas then. Did anyone save those so they could post them up again? New ideas are always good, too.
What direction do folks want to see the track go towards? Less technical and more wide open? Technical but bigger to utilize more of the space available? Incorporate a dirt oval (realizing it would likely compete with Marshfield, so that may not be an option???)? I know there was some concern about the relative tightness of the current layout when it was put in a couple of years ago, but after a few tweaks the layout was popular enough to last through last year with relatively little change.
Personally, I like it rather technical with lots of elevation changes and having the more technical stuff right in front of the drivers stand so my old eyes can see it. But I'm a SCT driver, although I can certainly understand where some of the 1/8 guys want to wind those suckers up and let them fly. That's what you paid for, after all, and it makes for a good show, too.
Really looking forward to seeing that custom 2wd SC truck, KCooper.

Actually, I think we ruled out having a big jump in the front straight for safety reasons, too, didn't we (being right next to the pit lane)? So when you look at my submitted layout, just remember that you have to subtract a bunch of the stuff from what is shown and try to picture it that way. Might help to be just a little bit drunk when trying to picture it

Watching some older videos of the track, I really like the rythem section you guys had. I also enjoy where you can open it up a bit and let the car eat!
I like your layout SC10, but I think if we could leave the first 3 jumps out after the AMB, we'd have a fast outside, and a technical inside part of the track, I'd be down for that.
