FIRST UPDATE, See Page 1 - "Tony G" needs our Prayers!!!
Long time Racer and Friend "Tony G" needs our Prayers...
-------------------------------------------------------
SEVENTH UPDATE: Wednesday, November 7th...... Hopefully going to Re-Hab soon...
Just received an update from Carol this morning.
Tony is starting to get a little cabin crazy from being in the hospital for so long,
Can't blame him.... I would also.
If you want to give him a call at his room: 630-286-4294 Give him a ring....
SIXTH UPDATE: Friday, October 26th.... Tony is doing much better!
Went to see Tony at RML Specialty Hospital on Friday. He is doing so much better.
The "trake" they now have in is smaller than the one before so he can actually talk and
carry on a conversation. He didn't get tired as fast as he has before and is building
up his strength.
If you have an opportunity to go see him, Please Do.... now that he is more alert, etc
he is starting to go sturr crazy and getting bored just watching T.V. (like anyone would)
But it really was a good visit, and I urge all of you to go visit him if you can.
FIFTH UPDATE: Oct 4th..... GREAT NEWS!!!
I received the following email from Tony's wife Carol last night!!
Hi Jeff,
This is Tony’s wife Carol. I am emailing you from work. Well , I wanted to let you know Tony is
fully awake and very coherent. I had mentioned your name yesterday and tried to show him
the RC web page you sent me and he was all smiles. Just the mention of your name made him smile.
(I said your Brother from another mother)
If you or any of the guys want to go see him that would be great. He is always looking for company.
I went back to work so I am only there in the evenings and on the weekends.
So if you would like let everyone know he would love to see guys.
He is at RML Hospital in Hinsdale, IL ( County Line Rd).
They are pretty good with the visiting hours. I was there until 10:00 on Saturday and they didn’t throw me out.
I will keep you posted. Thank you for everything. Carol
Please go and see Tony if you can, I am going on Saturday morning 10/6.

FOURTH UPDATE: Sept 24th.
I went to the hospital to see Tony on Saturday morning.
He is still pretty out-of-it but I talked to his doctor, and his doctor is
hopefull there will be more improvement this coming week.
He tossed around some, and shook his head when I was talking to him,
but still not completely sure he knew I was there, it was hard to tell.
He has a long way to go, but we are keeping high hopes he comes
around soon.
Please keep the prayers coming, he needs them....

THIRD UPDATE: Sept 19th.
Received a couple of texts from Carol last night.
Tony is doing better, he is coming out of all the sedation, and still in ICU.
He was trying to talk today, but they had to try to read his lips because
he still has the Trache in.
He will be in for a while.... but if any of us want to go see him,
she thinks some familiar faces would do him some good.
She said this weekend, Sep 22-23 or after should be O.K.
He is in the ICU, but He can have visitors.
Loyola University Hospital
2160 South, First Avenue
Maywood, IL

He is in the "4 North ICU"
Go in the main Hospital entrance, go to the information desk,
tell them where you are going and they will tell you what elevators.
Visiting Hours Are: 7 days a week, 10-11 am, 1-2 pm, 4-5 pm, 8-9 pm.
Earlier the better.

SECOND UPDATE: Sept 13th.
Received another call from Carol, Tony's wife.
She says he is doing better, he is off of the ventilator during most of the day,
breathing on his own, but he gets tired out by the end of the day.
They say he should be fully off of the ventilator by next week, but
they will keep the tracheotomy in for a while longer.
Possible he can leave the hospital in about 2 weeks, but Carol was not sure
if he would have to go to rehab after that.
Hang in there Tony.!!!

FIRST UPDATE: Sept 6th.
I got a call from Tony's wife last night.
Tony is on the slow road to recovery.
He is doing much better with the Tracheotomy in.
They are slowly taking him off of the sedation he has been under.
And it sounds like the Tracheotomy will "not" be permanent.
He still has a ways to go, but doing much better.
Some Great News.!! Keeping you in my prayers.....

************************************************** *******
Tony called me Wednesday of last week to let me know he was going in
on Friday for Esophageal Cancer (this is Tony's 2nd bout with cancer).
He said give him a call on Sunday and he should feel like talking.
Well, I gave him a few extra days in case, but his cell has been going
directly to voice mail. Today I found out why.
Tony's wife called me, the surgery didn't go well.
He has been having so much trouble breathing they can't take him off
of the respirator, and she said they have him so sedated, he really can't
even communicate.
They are taking him back into surgery to put in a Tracheotomy.
They do not know yet if it is going to be temporary, or permanent.
Please say a Prayer for him and his family.
