Default 2nd Annual Hurricane Stock Challenge @ The Den R.C. Raceway

The second annual stock challenge sponsored by Hurricane Motorsports will be held March 26, 2005. Short notice I know.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!! After a conflict in scheduling we have moved the Hurricane race to March 26th. Normal racing will be this weekend.

Guys it,s been in works but now is the time to get you Fired up.
Busy race schedules including The Midwest Touring Series almost didn`t allow us to put this race on.
Carpet will be set up 60 by 90 .
Hoping to set lap times at about16 to 18 secs.
All input direct to this thread. PM me with Questions. Thanks Kevin

Isn't 16 to 18 second laps going to be kind of long? Or even hard to make possible on a 60 by 90 track? I'm not sure...you might have done it before it just seems kind of long...but if it can be dont then more power to you.

Timmy-

I don't believe that Kevin's actual goal is "16-18 second laps", but rather a layout that is challenging to drivers and isn't just a "speed track".

The last weekly race at the Den produced lap times that were close to 9.0 (quick ones) and the A main winner almost had 55 laps total on a track that was 48' x 90'.

All that being said, Kevin just wants a challenging layout that requires driving skill and isn't a speedway.

I hope that makes sense. I hope you can make it out for the race as well. Kevin puts on a good show and I am sure there will be some home cookin' going on that day too!

Thanks,
JB

That makes sense...

So he's not gonna do a layout like snowbirds then

Anyone that hasnt been to the Den yet you want to go check it out. The track is awesome and the food it great. We had the MWTS race in a blizard and still drew a big field of racers, And what other track has a disco ball and lights. I cant wait for this summer to check out that awesome asphalt I keep hearing about.

Re-he-he-he-eaaaaalllly? Well I knew I wasn't going to be able to make it this weekend but the 26th might be do-able. QUestion for the rubber tire classes, Spec tire rule or run whatcha brung?

Speedie, their nitro track is pretty sweet. I am looking forward to running it a few times this upcoming spring.
