Default 2010/2011 Saturday Afternoon/Night Fever!!!!

As promised, here are the dates for the 2010/2011 SANF series at Trackside!!

October 2nd
October 16th
October 30th
November 27th(Spektrum off-road champs warm-up/leftover classic)
December 18th
January 1st, 2011(Red eye opener)
January 22nd
February 26th
March 12th
March 26th
April 9th(finals)

This year we have added 2 more races to the schedule, however, you still only need to make 7 of the races to count towards the points.

Classes will be:

Sportsman
Stock Spec-Slash
Stock truck
Stock Short course
Stock Buggy
Mod Truck
Mod Short Course
Mod Buggy
Mod 4 wheel Buggy
Mod 4 Wheel Short Course
1/8th E-Buggy

As in years past, there will be awards for all classes at the end of the year.

This series has been a great success for us and all the racers that have attended in the past two years. Last year, we had to move the start time up from 4 to 1 because of the huge turnouts that we were getting. With the new facility in place, we are expecting even larger turnouts this year, so doors open at 8am, and start time will be at noon on race days(thus the Saturday afternoon/night fever title).

So drivers start planning now....and we'll see you on the second

Bumping this up for Buck so it doesn't get lost. I wish the mods could just sticky this and lock it.

What tires have been working on the new track?

2wd Mod, 4wd Mod and Mod SC

Gonna try to make it up as much as we can! Already see a few conflicts

Thanks for getting the schedule out even during a busy week. I like the 4 race throw out. Especially with one race during Thanksgiving weekend and one (Dec18th) being so close to Christmas. Looks like I should be able to make most of them.
I really like the earlier start. Noon is great. Keeps it from getting to late with a long drive home. Im looking forward to Oct 2. Chuck

Thumbs up

Danny B,

Tires of choice seem to be...

2wd buggy - JConcepts Green Rounder front, JC Blue Bar Codes rear, Losi Pink 3 rib pre-scrubbed front (7206 I believe), Losi Pink BK Bar rear.

4wd buggy - JConcepts Gold or Blue Bar Codes front, JC Blue Bar Codes rear, Losi Pink BK Bar. I recently tried Pro-Line MC Suburbs and they worked well, but M3 compound might work even better but with added wear.

SC - So many tires work for SC, but I'll let others go into detail on this one...

Buck, thanks for the announcement! SA/NF is gonna be sweet again this season!

Thanks for the tire update Aaron. I can't wait til I can get up there for some of these dates. I'm glad to see extra dates added. The 4 drops will really help out those of us who can't get up there as easily.

Is stock short course gonna be kit tires only or open tire. If spec tire what about the factory team sc10 that comes with subcultures on the rear?

Wow. Very different then years past where it was Losi pink/Jcon Gold and compounds like that.

Stock SC is RTR tires still. The goosebump that comes with the kit are not allowed. Its ONLY rtr kit tires . Not kits that need to be assembled. I would say about 90% of us run slash tires on the track. As for mod it depends on your vechile.

Yes, we are finding that the larger track surface tends to dry a little faster than the smaller in back, thus, you get a better groove to the track than in years past. Thus, the softer compounds seem to be better the more groove there is.

Yup, Dan is right, we are sticking with the RTR only tire rule in Stock SC.

From memory, the part #'s are

Traxxas #5871, #6871, #6870
Associated #9809
Kyosho #601
Hpi #103338
Losi...don't remember...no one runs these anyway

As more RTR's come to market, we will review, and possibly allow them as well...stay tuned for the Venom part #....

With the Ofna Hobao Hyper 10SC 4wd SC truck now available as a RTR will those tires be allowed for the stock short course class?
