Everything is done the day of the races. The hobbyshop usually prints some flyers and hands them out in the store. The best thing to do is call or stop by the store to get more details. I'm going to try to stop in there one day this week (it's on my way home from work) and I'll pass on anything I learn since it appears they are not posting much about it on this forum.

hyperfuxx - The dirt track is made from the tractor pulling area which is used on Saturday. So, no practice the day before.

Default More race info

I was just in the store tonight and saw that the flyers are posted for the Elburn Days off-road race. I attached a really bad low res photo of the flyer because they didn't have any extras to take with me and my camera phone is really old.

The five classes this year are...

1/8 scale buggy
1/8 scale truggy / monster
stock short course
open short course
1/10 open

Registration begins at 8 AM and closes at 9:30 AM. Racing begins at 10:00 AM. This year they are also taking pre-paid advanced registrations in person at the store prior to the event. I don't think they are going to break out the combined classes even if there are enough entries because they probably only have enough trophies for the five listed classes. The entry fee is $10 per car with all proceeds going to the Elburn Lions Club.

Default On-road

Lori and Byron also confirmed that the regular on-road parking lot race will be held at Lion's park just like last year. All the regular classes, rules and fees apply. I don't know if they might be starting a little earlier. Byron has posted regular race info in another forum. Here is the link... http://www.hobzob.com/event/663

I never knew there was an Elburn Days to begin with, only knew about Sugar Grove and Mendota having Sweet Corn Fests and of course the Sandwich Fair, shows how little I get that far north on 47

I should be able to make it, just have to get my 1/8th buggy going and convince my brother to lend me his Mini for the day, shouldn't be too much trouble.

I guess I don't know how to navigate this site. Am I missing something or does it only contain the 2010 race schedule?

I couldn't figure that site out either. The busy cluttered interface reminds me of MySpace. I never did find any race results postings from Byron. I was just doing my part to pass along information from my last stop at the store. I wish he would just post here on RCTECH.net.

That would be nice if one of them "could" post some info. But since the employees have been told they can NOT post anything on RcTech anymore, I dought we will get any info.

Historically, this race has always been limited 5 classes. Nitro classes have dwindled to non-existence at the parking lot races where they used to be quite popular. Membership in the Dirt Dawgs is way down as well. That is where most of the 1/8th scale nitro class guys came from for this race. Slash and SCT have taken over everything. I think that is why they are doing it. Personally, I don't like Slashes or SCTs but I do understand the popularity. I'm sure they made the decision to combine those two classes based on last year's turn out and the popularity of SCT.
