Hey motorman why are you logged in as ninja mode(when you are logged in but the green buble stays grey like you are not). I dont know if it was the battery or not but you were definitly faster then me when ever I raced you at hobbytown. Could have been you had the spektrum turned to 125%?
Just wondering because if you aren't cheating I would like to do what you are doing.
Thanks,
Blaine

Blaine,
I told you what was done once before. Jason from HT reprogrammed my Radio the correct way. The ATV is set to 125% on the JR3S. The Batteries are nothing but 3000 mah Wolf Packs from HT charged at 6 amps. The gearing that I ran at the end was 16/90. Before that I ran 17/90. And before that it was 17/86. I regeared it for the Enduro searching for the longest run time per charge. With 16/90, I had all kinds of punch out of the corners, with 15 minute run times.
I am in Engineering for a living, therefore finding the sweet spot for gearing was the first goal that I had. I practaced many hours there, regearing and testing. I also practaced many hours on the oval after Work. Gearing is the key point in extracting as much as possible out of the Titans.
I had asked you on many occasions what you were running, and you allways said it was stock,18 tooth. A 18 tooth pinion does not let the Motor spool up like mine does, and still will. I run the stock speedo in that truck turned 180 Degree's so that I could eliminate the motor wire plugs, and solder the Speedo wires directly to the motor, just like the Mag articles said to do. This free's up quite a bit of resistance, and it is noticable.
I also clean the motor's with motor spray after every heat, and lube the bushings with Parma Bushing lube. Picking out the carpet fibers that accumalate on the pinion end of the motor with a little L shaped pick really keeps them running strong too.
Everyone that was racing that day seen what the change of the programming did. I practaced with the old set-up, pulled the truck, reprogrammed the speedo and went back out, and the difference was night and day. I also removed the inner rubber seals on the bearing's, and removed the grease. I relubed them with Trinity Purple bearing oil (THIN LIKE WATER). These things were all done to maximize the performance with what I had to work with. Every single thing I ever purchased while racing at HT was purchased there. In the tune of a Few thousand dollars just for my Slashs.
None of the Titans are equal. You have to buy a few of them, and break them in, and find the strong ones.
Luckily I had three Slash's and two extra Titans all from HT to pick from. Also, The Titans were all Broke in in Water except for one, useing a Duratrax Ice set at 3.6 V for 10 minutes to fully seat the brushes. There Blaine, you have every secret that I ever used at Oshkosh to run well. If you want to know what I used on the oval, I will tell you that too.

Well it seems like you did enough things to deserve a fast truck. I might have to change the gearing because I always ran the 86t spur instead of 90. I have definitly found that all titan motors are different. Still haven't got that 1 in 10 motor though!

Blaine,
I since have modified the Diffs to use O-rings in two of the trucks. This allows the use of Silocone Fluid. I needed to do that to hook up the Lipo/Brushless combo's on Dirt. I have been dialing it in more and more every week. It is a learning curve, but I really like the challenge it offers.
Also, I would stay and practace for a few hours after every race at HT.

Wow! What a complete joke! Anybody that says calls the Slash a POS has never raced on that is properly set up! These trucks are not advertised as being able to compete with a T4 for a reason, but when raced together with other Slashes they are very close and competitive. Sorry Racerj3, but your truck got spanked by a few Slashes by total laps in a heat. Its not the truck thats always the slow one!
I do agree that the races at Schmidts could have been run a little better, but the point of racing is to have fun. There are times we ALL forget about that, but we were happy that the gret people at Schmidts let us use their facility so we could have a place to race.
Rules? Well, last time I looked, this was not a ROAR event. Thats why we were running rules that the people in charge of THIS track made. Some rules were "bent or pushed" a little for whatever reason, which I dont necessarly agree with, but there were times when that made it possible for people to race without spending alot of money to enjoy the sport. The cars or trucks that won almost every week are vehicles that met the rules. We did not run a points series so it was easier to maintain the "fun" aspect of RC Racing.
As for a few of the racers there, Blain and his younger brother Tanner, Dylan, Bob and a few others have raced and won at other tracks running in line with that tracks rules. Ive raced with these guys and enjoyed it!!!
