I don't work for Hobby Town, but here is some information based on their races I have attended in the past. Dave (thunderbt3) can expand/correct on it.
-Parking Lot Track
-House Transponders available (though you can use your AMB personals too)
-$10 or $15 for first race class (I don't remember for sure)
-2 Qualifiers and a Main usually I believe.
Class: They tend to run what shows up (3 cars make a class I think?), but some of the usual ones are Stock Electric TC (13.5 brushless allowed), GT3 (Electric TC with silver can Mabucci motors), Electric Off-road (buggies, stadium trucks, Stampedes, etc), Trans Am (electric TC's with vintage car bodies and HPI vintage treaded tires), Nitro TC (though I think that can be hit or miss), Nitro Monster Truck. Occasionally there has also been Modified Electric TC, Nitro 1/8 buggy, Micro (RC18, Mini-T).
It is a pretty laid back racing scene.

I haven't heard of any changes to entry costs but last year it was $10 for the first class and $5 for any classes after that.
Classes that usually run are:
electric "stock" touring
nitro touring
GT3 - any touring chassis 2wd/4wd with a silver can motor
USVTA/Nascar vintage - Depending on turnout we might have to group these classes together. I think for the first race, we'll run them together. Nascar vintage rules are 20T Traxxas stinger motor/6 cell. USVTA rules will be used this year. That is: 27T/17.5/4cell or 21.5/Lipo/Locked 4.2 FDR. We can use the first race to compare if ether has an advantage to another.
OR
We can do away with GT3 due to low turnout last year and replace that with Vintage Nascar. Opinions?
offroad - any 1/10 offroad, nitro/electric, 2wd/4wd, truck/buggy
slash spec - I think modded slashes should be put in offroad and not have a separate class. If turnout is low, Slashes will be put into offroad. I doubt we'll have any problems with turnout.
monster truck
1/8 buggy/truggy/GT - if turn out is low they're put in with the monster trucks.

NASCAR OUTLAW Class
HPI Vintage Tires ONLY(cheap & durable)
Any Silvercan (Hackamoto (has internal fan) or Traxxas Stinger both recommended)(very cheap)
McAllister COT body (very cheap)
Any 6 cell battery or 2 Cell Lipo.
- This class is designed for leveling the competition, low maintenance and very cheap to get into. The standard battery is 6 cells or 2c lipo which does not require special costs (which is why people ran HT Vintage last year). With the low torque of the silvercans the HPI Vintage tires will hook up nicely without the torque issues from 27t 6cell vintage tires (last year Vintage class). The HPI Vintage tires are durable and long lasting and will easily last 1 season of outdoor racing. The NASCAR COT bodies will all be the same yet can resemble peoples favorite NASCAR drivers and would definately make it a crowd pleaser race that is fun to announce.
- I would prefer to keep NASCAR Outlaw separate from anything else for now trying to start and keep it as it's own class. There have been classes that only ran 2 cars last summer. Once in GT3 I was the only one thrown in with a beginner nitro who was the only one. Keeping it separate I don't think will be an issue. We will work on promoting it with in our group and attracting regulars outside. I believe there are 4 right now, possibly more regulars to jump into it.
If Trans-Am (Vintage) guys want to run then follow the US-TA rules
(I keep hearing gripes about we are not aligned)
21.5 6 cells or 17.5 4 cells or 27t 4 cells, I believe are the options.
If GT3 guys want to run, keep them separate. Although NASCAR Outlaw will have many of the guys that were running GT3 and might only run NASCAR Outlaw, not both. I personally will promote NASCAR Outlaw and not run GT3 this year.
For mini I would prefer all the Tamiya's to run Tamiya type mini tires. My concern is mostly the size of the tire and roll-out. I don't think the brand of the tire really matters as long as it it a mini.
If another brand mini wants to run, I would think it is ok as long as they run a Tamiya silvercan motor. If an unfair advantage is deemed, then we will cross that bridge as it comes.
My classes for the summer are Mini, Nascar Outlaw & Stock.

After some thought, I don't think it is a good idea to bring 1/8th Nitro/Brushless Conversion Off-road or IGT at HTSC...I don't think there are ppl would do that, but consider 1/8th scale are pretty NASTY to the track and other little car while practice. HTSC is not big enough to let them run but from what I have heard from Leisure hour, they did plenty of damage to 1/10th and smaller RC cars while @ practice. Not to mention about the marshell...they can be pretty nasty when they hit you 40-50 mph.
So the total is about 11-12 classes.............Item (*) means these are more likely a hit or miss classes. I would definitely consider this....a real "OPEN" class, group those who show up at the track but can not form a class and have them to RACE in this class....racer can't complaint about someone's car is 10X faster or 10X slower but it is a open class, race what you brough (that means, HTSC might group 1 or 2 mini, along with 1 or GT3 with 1 slash and 1 nitro TC - ME and 2 open rubber/foam.)
I cannot imagine HTSC is running more then 5 classes in 1 SAT....remember, some classes might have more then 1 hit like stock rubber, GT3 or USVTA.
Also, is there are ROOKIE NOVICE class..? I didn't even realize that there were one before @ HTSC.
My 0,02 only....I will most likely bring my Nitro TC for stand-by (practice) stock rubber, GT3, USVTA, Slash, Off road......ONLY.
Matt posted this late last year and we can see the turn out of each class.
We started racing minis with four races left in season. But last two races we had seven to eight minis. Everybody had a great time racing the minis.Hopefully we will have more. See some of you guys at first race. John
