I have only been learning some of the facts here in this thread. I was hoping that I would remain silent and that some form of co-existence would form. In the ultimate long run, I agree that racers should be able to pit in relative peace, and some kind of communication must occur to figure out where folks' personal space is.
Of course, I don't own rcTech or this thread. My speech is not more important here than anyone else's here. On the other hand, once we are on the Outback turf, it is more important. So let's not have any ideas of bringing open hostilities to the next races, if that is what I hear percolating.
Don't worry Bob, "I'm a lover not a fighter."
Bob, how do you think kids should behave at the Outback? I have seen kids at other tracks washing tires, cleaning cars, playing video games, etc. to keep them occupied. Are there any do's and dont's besides bothering me?
Alright guys!!! The new layout is mostly in. We still have a bit of tweaking to do but the layout is FAST. Slashes will probably turn 20 second laps or better and mod 4wd might tap 15. Just a guess.
Kachlik!! I have some work to do on my wheeler but you better be ready cuz I don't plan on letting you beat me twice!!
TONS of thanks to Al for bringing out his skid steer. Probably saved about 3 months worth of shoveling!!!
you know im gonna take the high road here. im probably gonna pull out of the slash race. i wouldnt want my KID to BOTHER anyone and make them have a bad day. sorry bob but im not going to just sit here and let some guy attack my kids. you dont have to worry about my kid starting anymore problems with this guy. have fun with your race i may or maynot bethere
Just woundering what turn BL motors you guys have in our trucks for racing (2wd 1/10th stadium truck) I currently have a 17.5 in, but am trying to figure out if a 13.5 will be better...

Thanks,

13.5 would probably be better. I've never had less than a 10.5 and that's the most that is necessary on this loose dirt. A 17.5 might be just a touch slow for the class but a 13.5 should work very nicely. Lots of control and still has some punch.

I was running a 19t brushed in my XXT the yellow and red truck, it did ok considering the age of the truck and olmost everyone else had brushless. Not to mention I haven't run dirt for a year. If I still have it by then I am going to put my extra 13.5 in it and the brushless esc from another car, I just hope the diff can handle that motor.
Thanks for all the hard work on the track. Can't wait to see the track!
Team Tous should have a wheeler out with Jon behind the controls by next Sunday. Are they called "wheeler" or 4wd buggyholes?
Uh oh! I'm gonna have to rebuild it with extra fast parts then.
LOL
That's really cool. Look forward to racing against him with it. I think he will like it. Very different driving but very fun!
I am going to work on my practice track in Maple Parkinsaw today so I can hopefully do better than 5th in the 4wd class it's hard packed dirt and full of weeds so it may take a couple of hrs. I herd they are only called wheelers in wisconsin, but how do you know if they are talking about r/c's or atv's?

It is very tough. And we all have different personalities on top of that. My kid is now 10 years old, so a little easier to manage now. I am the over-worrying parent type, so I almost spend 100% of my time trying to monitor when mine was little, but that is not typical, and it is very energy-draining. We were on an overseas flight once an my 2-year old would kick the seat in front of him. Obviously the people in front were upset, plus we were upset, and we basically had to block (with our legs) the area the whole flight. And then the lady in front said we should have tried some sleeping pills on him. I was silent about that but very mad, and I wish I had told her to try the sleeping pills and it would have worked out just as good. So, on the one hand, it is very taxing to be 100% on-top of everything. In fact, I'm glad the kids weren't pulling up plant, bouncing balls off my house, and so forth. I thought they were kind of cute.
But, yeah, going forward, what we'll do is that if anyone has concerns or requests, just let me know or talk it out there. I know that once parents learn of a particular concern, they will be able to address it. I mean, if we thrashed you with stick every race, it wouldn't work out in the long run, would it.

Hey, that's what I'm talking about. It is the most dramatic transformation of dirt we've ever seen (at least out here). Working on some parts of the track almost triggered my fear of heights.
