U.S. Vintage Trans Am Nationals: April 12th, 2008

Just a small note about a minor rules change... bearings in 27T stock motors are no longer legal (not that anyone used or needed them in Trans Am). It was a bit of a placebo to keep brushed motor racers from panicking about the introduction of the brushless motors to the class, and we've found that not only are bearings not necessary, but the brushed motors are still faster overall.
Motors will be Teched at the nationals, too. So no 19T arms in those CO27 cans.

36 drivers pre-registered in just over 48 hours, and only TWO guys that call Trackside home, TWO guys from Allen's, ONE from Michiana and no one from Oshkosh. These tracks aren't going to fair well in the team competition if no one shows up to support this class and their home tracks.
Better get registered soon, guys! This is going to be a can't miss event for Trans Am geeks.
HPI will be in attendance at this event, with full support for the Nationals, as well as a host of prize packages. We are also working with RCdriver for coverage and support, as well as a few other sponsors in the works.
Seriously, missing this would be a big mistake.

The last word was that they have LOTS of all three styles in stock in the store. Be sure to let them know what you're using them for, too.
BTW, officially 42 drivers pre-registered already. Wow. Still only 3 Wisconsin guys and 1 Indiana racer. Don't procrastinate, guys...

i apologize if this question has already been asked but is there a way to view the 3 bodies online at pegasus hobbies website? cant seem to find them on there website. also i seen there was a mustang and a cuda but what is the 3rd body they sell? also are the bodies 190mm or 200mm? thanks
if you go to the us vintage trans am regular thread a buddy of mine found some of the bodys at a local hobby shop in the back room LOL he posted pics of the cuda and mustang. Both are pretty killer a mustang guy actually has the same mustang as the one used to creat the body and he flipped out when he saw it today. so they are pretty sweet
3rd body is a camaro also pretty sweet.
they are 200mm bodys and they work perfect with the hpi rims and tires cause they are bigger and fill out the body perfectly

46 out of 60 spots pre-registered so far, in under 4 days. Amazing!
Don't delay in registering—we're not sure if we will be able to raise the cap with the available pit space.
Get your info pre-registered as soon as possible if you plan on racing at the Nats!

A few quick stats from the 49 total pre-registrations so far for the USVTA Nats...
Home Tracks:
25 racers from The Track at Harbor Hobbies
7 racers from S&N's Trackside
7 racers from Strictly R/C
4 from the RC Underground
2 From Allen's
...and one each from Michiana RC in Indiana, The Coliseum in Maryland and HobbyPlex in Nebraska.
We have 26 Camaros, 11 Mustangs, 10 'Cudas and a few undecided.
There are 16 confirmed planning to run 17.5 brushless and 33 running brushed stock motors. 18 of those are confirmed CO27 stocks.
There are 12 each of Xrays and Team Associated cars, with (7) Associated TC3s and (6) Tamiya TA05s being the most popular individual chassis choice. There are 3 Corralys, 2 HPIs, 5 Schumachers, 10 Tamiyas, 12 Associateds, 2 Losis and 12 Xrays with a few also undecided still.
Of the 49 racers pre-registered, 32 of them use DSM 2.4ghz radios, with only one racer using 27-band AM radio technology.
You can view the full list of pre-registered racers here. Hope to see a few more registering soon... only 11 spots remaining.
