As I understand it, the club/bigger regional events are doing the following...

Mod classes - Brushless and Lipo/Nimh are allowed as mod is anything goes!
19t classes - Brushless 10.5 and Nimh's
13.5 classes - Brushless 13.5 and Nimh's
Stock classes - 27turns and Nimh's

But i wonder if there is a big difference in offroad between a 27t and a 13.5...

If Brushless is allowed in 19t, I may come solo! or bring a bud with.

Here are the rules for Mod as posted on the RC Pro series website. LiPo are legal but they state that the MAH is limited to 4300, most common lipos I have used and seen others use are 4800-6000 mah.

There is not a motor or battery mah limit in the brushless truck category.

1/10 scale 2wd Buggy (Mod)
Maximum overall length ---------------------- 18 inches
Maximum width ------------------------------- 9.84 inches
Maximum -------------------------------------- 8 inches

Minimum Wheelbase -------------------------- 9.01 inches
Minimum weight ------------------------------ 52.88 ounces
Wheel mounting bead diameter
Maximum -------------------------------------- 2.19 inches
Minimum ----------------------------------------- 1.62 inches
Wheel Diameter
Maximum --------------------------------------- 2.42 inches
Wheel width
Maximum ---------------------------------------- 1.5 inches
Tires ----------------------------------------------Rubber only

Width - Max ----------------------------------------------- 1.74
Rear Wing

Just to clear up a few things.

1. The 19 turn classes are 19T only, no brushless.

2. Brushless motors are legal in all mod classes and Brushless/Lipo class

3. LiPo's are NOT legal in any class except for the Brushless/Lipo truck class

We wanted to have a specific class for the LiPo's to show case the run time.

This is copied from the RcPro rules sheet. I would suggest allowing LiPo in mod classes. There isn't any reason to separate them any more. The 4200's have more voltage now anyway.

Sorry, but LiPo's will only be allowed in the Brushless/LiPo class this year.

There is still a big advantage on run time with LiPo's.

Because of the rule, several racers will not be able to race. Lipo is becoming a standard in racing and every other significant race in the region is allowing in offroad mod classes.

I/we are not complaining, we are asking for consideration. If no LiPo is allowed except for one class than most LiPo users that live more than an hour away will not come to race.
