Default 1:12 scale carpet racing

Was watching kind of closely last night at H&H during the 1:12 scale class race. Man you sure get a lot of laps for your racing dollar.

How come it's not such a popular class anymore? From what I hear years ago it had lots of people enjoying it.

Why not race 1:12 scale?

I like it. It is cheap, fun, and like you said, more track time. I got my car 2nd hand with 5 3800 battery packs and a novak GT7 speedo for $200. There are a lot of people out there selling them pretty cheap. Parts are pretty cheap as well, and you dont have as many parts to stock since there are not as many parts to the car. I was planning on running stock rubber this winter, but the price of the car and everything else was going to be astronomical. I think I will be running 1/12th for the next few years to come.

Kenji.

The guys who have been racing for years and years can problem explain better. But at some point Touring Car pretty much took over the onroad scene. I think it has more to do with the realism of TC's. (even thought they don't totolly resemble the real cars :P )

It is more work, parts, and stuffz to run TC. 1/12th is pretty fun and if you figure bang for you buck it's definitely nice. Once the full indoor season gets going I'm sure you will see more and more 1/12th out again.

His n Hers is in Kenosha. To my knowledge, there are no more carpet tracks in the Chicago area. The last 3 are Victory in Green Bay, His n Hers in Kenosha, and Trackside in Milwaukee. Green Bay is a hell of a drive though from what I have heard.
