Default New Track Opening in McHenry off Route 120

I heard some rumors that there is going to be a new track opening in McHenry on or around Route 120. Has anyone else heard about a track in that area. It was said that there will be an indoor on road and an outdoor off Road track.

Default ?

Maybe one of the dirt dawgs people would know about it because they have one of their tracks up that way.

Is Jim's hobby shop still up that way?

When I was at the Opening of Raceline Motorworks in Hawthorn Mall I was talking to this Kid Vick who Mentioned it to me. I guess Vick use to race at Venture/RSJ when it was open, but I don't remember seeing him there.

So I am not sure how legite the rumor is. If it is true it would be great to have a place close to home again.

Default rumor

I'll help fuel the rumor. Someone I don't know on another forum private messaged me and said that yes indeed they are building a track. 100x36, seems to be inside some kind of retail establishment. They were drywalling a few days ago. He/she said to look for October as opening.

I'm sure if it's true we'll all know about when the time is right. Anyone starting a new place and wanting to make money will get the word out pronto.

That would be nice to have another track around as HnH in Bloomington closed and IRP in Dekalb is closing at the end of the month . I`d definetly be going if it is an offroad track .

Hey guys I dont know any facts but i doubt a new track is in the works. Who would want to do that? Really, as much fun as it is you could open any number of business that would be more profitable. Just look at the history. the only thing leisure has going is they own the property. when the track closes and it will they can rent out the bulding so no real risk. However if someone is doing it i wish them the best and i promise ill try to race all the time........try to.

They were getting 100 gas cars on a Sunday last spring, so maybe they'll be there a while...
