I wish that I could make it. I have started back in oval after a 12 year break. Unfortunately that is the same day as the sedan race in Oshkosh. Good luck, and I hope I can make it down sometime. How long do you plan on having the oval setup?

At this point, this is a one time deal. We hope to get enough of an interest that we can bring oval back next season on a regular basis.
If you can swing by after the Oskosh race... We should be there pretty late I would think....

As posted from Burbey on HT.com;
*****
Had a great time one saturday.. the track was very different ad took a bit of getting used to.. it was shaped kind of like a baseball diamond.. one wide sweeping turn, and one sort of sharp turn...

Skom Tq'd
shwanbeck 2nd
burbs 3rd
hicks
and butch i belive

finishing order was
butch
skom
burbs
hicks
shwanbeck
brian (bump up)

in the main skom got the jump, and after a lap or so i was in second.. i was pressuring him pretty good, and he hit the pipe and moved out of the way and i snuck by.. I had the lead for a while, with butch right on my butt.. I eventually taged the pipe just as skom did exept my car shot into pit lane, allowing butch to go by.. Paul and skom got into a tangle which set them back as well.. i was in second and butch in first.. a few laps later i tapped the pipe again going into the pit lane again LOL.. skom got by and i dropped to 4th.. butch pretty much checked out, but skmo and myself were charging hard.. we made up good time after that and the top three finished less then a second apart.. great close racing..

had a great time, only a little over an hour drive.. hope to make it back for the next one..

Neil... I am not bashing... how many guys showed up for this race? Is RC in general big in Madison? I know years ago they had a good following but it just seemed to dissapear ... I am talking roadcourse and oval.

Not a problem Ottoman...

We had about 30 racers total for the night. Had 10 offroad trucks, 10 pancar, about 8 or 10 touring/12th scale combined.

Was an OK turnout, and talking with Hotrod, he expects we will be doing this again. Possibly this year yet, or a few times next year.

As for pancar, there was a number of racers that didnt make it, for many reasons. I think next race, we can hit easily 20, maybe even 25 pan cars alone, add that to the other types and it is looking to be a good run. I dont know the turnout for touring in Madison though.

Its a nice track, wide open, very nice size. I think we need a traditional oval for teh next race, just my thoughts... this past race had more of a teardrop shape. Pit spaces were nice tables, may need to add more in the spare space as the races grow. AC Power problems for the first time when oval racers showed up! Hotrod mentioned he would have that solved for the next race though. Parking can be tricky, not a lot of room for cars.

Generally was a fun time... great place, great city and close to a lot of racers. Should be fun next time as well!

Get rid of the inside PVC and it would save some equipment. Other than that, it was nice.

I WILL AGREE!!!

Hehe.... nothing like touching the pipes and getting shot to the outside wall!!

For the next race, I will mention something about the slick surface we use at Triclone or same as what Trackside had, and remove the pipes.
