Default UK-RC Forums, Worth being there?

Mostly directed to UK Racers.

I have recently been thinking about the future of UK-RC. Its been going nearly a year now (11 months) and intrest isnt as great as i would have liked. My primary aim was to rival a similar forum (rcracechat.com) but with a totally free service.

I was just wondering what your thoughts were on the matter as i dont want to carry on spending money for the sake of it. I always try and get to as many events as possible but living here up north and all the tracks being down south its extremely hard.

Is there anybody out there that lives down south and goes to alot of races? Maybe be a kind of UK-RC reporter or photographer, Reviewer? I basically need help with this site as i on my own cannot provide a up to date service of all the events etc. It would be nice to see some more members in the forum etc to try and rival RcRaceChat but i cannot seem to get enough exposure. If anybody would like to help then please let me know.

If you think that there isnt really the "market" for such a website then please let me know. I am just getting a little frustrated with a DEAD website . If somebody was prepared to keep on top of events and advertise the forum etc i am totally prepared to give up the site and help in the background with reviews and let them be the "Face" of UK-RC.

Any suggestions about what i should do are welcome.

I have had one person tell me they are going to write a review on the Tamiya TRF415 MSX, Thanks Ed

Because its now winter, still photos are hard to take without a flash indoors. So we normally record races or make compilation videos of racing. The video camera i have at the minute only cost 100 and to be honest, quality is poor.

I have bit the bullet and bought a 420 sony camcorder that should be much better quality and smoothness for filming. I hope i can make some good videos from now on

pheyhoe, some great action there, maybe a bit too much cutting and some shots were TOO low, other than that some great video there. The White and blue mazda was awesome, drifting round corners to perfection.

Calm down Paz,

We are not closing them yet, we will have to see how the next year goes.

Ive pretty much commited to carrying them on by

Having a banner printed to hang at meetings

Purchasing a Decent video camera (and next year on-board cameras. Plan is we video the race from the outside and we have one car as the on-board car, if the car is in a battle, hopefully somewhere up front, we will cut to the on-board camera and then switch to the outside view again. etc.)

Having some decals printed. The original sticker sheet is no longer going to be printed as to give them out for free would just not have gone down well with my wallet. However, we are having some custom vinly stickers printed which with be available in black, white, and chrome, with different outlines and transparencies for different style/colour bodyshells.

Renewing the forum license and domain name.

And last but not least, having a UK-RC Bodyshell painted as a show body by SHOP UFO

So yeah, cheer up paz :P

Im sometimes suprised, but then i realise that because theres so many people on it already, its hard to just change. Unless everyone went at once, but hey. These things take time i guess. (Hope :P )

Well the movie was great A+ on that. Also I can't seem to figure out why you don't have more members. I checked out both sites & prefer yours to the other one. Video's, pictures, reviews many different things provided. I would say keep the site open. You got a good thing going already. Keep plugging away & they will come. I am looking to possibly sign up myself.

Peace Aaron(W-W)

Thanks very much for the comments, it really is greatly appreciated.

If any of you guys want to run some decals on your cars then E-Mail me your address within the next few weeks and i will send some out to you. I am currently just finalising things with the guy whos printing them but its taking a while....

Thanks once again,

(oh by the way, the stickers are free and so is the shipping... Worldwide ).

Not a problem at all. I give comments where needed & when needed. I will send you an e-mail with my address. I would put some of those stickers on my bodies & my pitbox.

Peace Aaron(W-W)
