VRC Pro has been a huge project which involved a lot of effort and a big investment, still I'd say
yes we could possibly see the practice mode become available for expired subscriptions one day. There are however two important objections or rather conditions to consider:
First of all, we could only do this after VRC Pro has sustained a very healthy customer base for enough time that we started getting substantial return on investment.
Secondly, and this is a common misunderstanding, but VRC Pro members are not paying their subscription only for online racing services. They are also paying for all the maintenance and service and continuous product development. Let's not forget that we're adding improvements, new features and new content to the web/game continuously and we require subscription revenues in order to do so.
So, in fact your subscription payment is always also an investment in continuous improvement, expansion and enhancement of VRC Pro, and thus increases the value also for offline users.
Plus, I'd add a third important consideration. I mean, what are we talking about,
subscription prices actually start at 6.50 Euro ($8.45) per month. VRC Pro is not all that expensive at all, in fact VRC Pro can help you save lots of money and time on highly effective training, while giving you much more net track time per month. And it makes the money you end up spending on the real thing much more enjoyable and rewarding, because of sheer skill improvements.
Normally people pick the 3-month introduction offer which costs 8 Euros/month ($10.40/month).
Now, you can only buy the introduction offer 1 time and afterwards the regular 3-month subscriptions cost 11.60 Euros/month ($15.00/month), but because of your 3 month loyalty discount (15%) it's actually going to be only 9.86Euro/month ($12.80/month) in the normal 3-months subscription scenario. The next renewal becomes even cheaper, because after a total of 6 months your loyalty discount is 20% so you pay only 9.28 Euros/month ($12.00/months) for a 3-month subscription. The point is, it's still peanuts compared to real R/C expenses (while providing you with a true R/C racing experience, so say more than 40 industry leading brands and top racers like multi-champ Ronald Völker among others).
VRC becomes cheaper the longer you do it:
- Your loyalty discount keeps increasing up to 30% as your subscription continues without any breaks
- The subscriptions are cheaper if you purchase a longer period: 6-months, 12-months or 24-months. This way you can get your subscription for as little as 6.50 Euros/month ($8.45/month) and save a lot of money.
These are all things to consider when thinking about the VRC Pro subscriptions, but let's keep the discussion going!
Thanks for the question
