here's an 'inside' tip that I received via PM....

"Getting his D8 prepped for RC Pro International Finals in TX this week! he might be there right now

He's signed up http://www.rcprosites.com/site/op/co...contentid/1787 and going to be there all-week.

I saw something from houston here:
http://www.rctech.net/forum/trader-f...-like-new.html
Makes me wonder if they're not the same guy. I informed houston of my suspicions and linked him to the feedback thread.

Marcos J (moderator) should be able to investigate and tell if the IP's of the two accounts match, or even occasionally match.
"

so anyone going to be there? does anyone know the RC pro host or RD that can pull him from the event? or call him out? Marcos J... can you work anything?

and this as well....

"He spent the time and money to get to TX. Who was that trying to call Race Directors and have him banned from the tracks? Maybe they can have Carolton (RC Pro race director/announcer/time keeper) call him out.

He's there now practicing I think. Planned on being there for the WHOLE week-long thing. "

I've emailed Carlton from RC Pro with some info and a link to this thread. Not sure if he can or will do anything, but at least he's aware.

I see he's signed up on RC Signups but I don't see his name on the paid or unpaid list of racers on the RC pro website.

Maybe he scammed RC Signups too?

Heres the response from RC Pro...

"Interesting situation. Seems on our most recent list of paids and unpaids I failed to list his name. Purely accidental since I had not seen anything about this until your email. Not 10 minutes after your email he emailed me to let me know his name wasn't there. So I copied your email and sent it back to him saying he needed to look into this.LOL
I probably won't hear anything from him anymore since he knows I know about all this now. He is paid for one entry and a pit stall for the finals.

xxxxxx
his email - swill369@yahoo.com
"

maybe if we keep getting him kicked out of events.. he'll own up.. or at least if we can cost him as much in lost entry fees as he's scammed us.. maybe it's a small victory..

Cool, sounds like an open pit stall. I needed one of those!

just a tip if you buy something through paypal but not on ebay.give the seller 2 business days to ship.if he doesnt send a tracking # by the second day 11:59pm open a dispute.that will stop all money from being transferred to his bank account.I know paypal says allow 7 days but on day 3 you money is gone. day 2 its still be processed and paypal will stop the transaction until you say its ok.hope you guys get your money back.

Just got a call from the local investigator I referred the case to here in MD. He contacted the sheriff local to Shane's area who did a drive by and validated his identity. My investigator called Shane and apparently Shane did not return the call which is enough to issue a summons. My investigator did. Shane accepted it. The summons calls for a court date on January 4th of next year.

I haven't received mine yet, but I am already clearing my schedule in anticipation. I expect the end result of this is that a warrant will be issued for Shane.

This is all new to me so I am sorry if I got some details wrong.

Bottom line is that I'm sure this has gone further than Shane expected and hopefully has given him cause to think about doing this again to anyone else. I encourage everyone who Shane has ripped off to follow suit. Hopefully we can get multiple warrants out on Shane.

PS - Paypal has closed the dispute and I am not sure I understand the end result. Amex charged back the money so I ended up not paying it. Paypal may have been able to recover from Shane - maybe not.

PPS - I also submitted the case to the federal government link provided above and received word from the FBI that they will keep the information on file. Hopefully Shane learns from this and stops his thieving ways before the Feds start to care.

One more thought - I never expected to hear anything from Shane nor even get the money back. I was just hoping to make Shane's life a little more uncomfortable - hopefully he feels the $200 was worth it.

I'm a little confused if you got your money back through your credit card company how can you take him to court is this a lawsuit or is he being charged with a crime I'm hoping it he is being charged that might send a message to all the scammers out there

I believe he is being charged with a crime.
