Default Tracks in San Diego?

I have been searching the internet looking for tracks in S.D. and only found 4 of them.
There is Palomar, which requires a ROAR membership and $150 a year to race there. I need to learn how to drive on a track before I attempt to race, so that place is out.
There is Family Hobbies in Santee, electric only.
There is that hobby shop in Poway that supposedly has a track, their website sux and they're moving anyway.
Then there is Komet RC Raceway, somewhere by Kearny High, is that track still around because I couldn't find it...
So, where do you San Diego people go to bash and practice? I did find a big open field where people were flying RC airplanes and helicopters.

Hey so have you found a place to practice on tracks yet? If so let me know I wouldn't mind joining up and get some time in!

Listen I'm getting back into the RC scene I live in Del Mar. I know of tons of places that have fresh asphalt that is clean (from taking photographs). Back back in the day a few friends of mine along with myself went down to the Fire Fighters Depo downtown off of Harbor and bought 1000 feet of Fire hose for around $80 bucks add cones for another $40 bucks and you have tons of weekends where ever you can set up at. As soon as I get another RC Car I'm in to set something up guys!

I am going to have to check it out. I haven't run my nitro RC truck in several months because I couldn't find a place. Even the dirt lot where I used to go is gone now. GRRRR

You do not have to be a meber to race there at Palomar raceway, u can become a member if u what to but u do not have to be one to race there. They do require a R0AR mebership but that is not to much at all. That is the only thing they require there.
