Well, Seems like we are getting into the winter racing season. Good and strong turnouts for on-road has pushed me to make a couple schedule changes.
Starting this Sunday November 6,2005 I will start on-road racing on Sunday's doors will open at 10 a.m. and will start racing at 2pm. Friday night's will not change, but Saturday nights will be for open practice (timed) opening at 6pm closing around 11.
Hope this works out for all of us, if not drop me line at [email protected].

I guess I'll have to try and stop in the next time I'm in town. I'll try to bring my gear so I can turn some laps this time.

Sorry I missed you this weekend Chris. The place looks good.

Thanks Socko, sorry I missed ya, had to work all weekend. Come on down it would be fun to race with you again!

As for Saturday night racing, we will be still running races, it will just be limited to 2 qualifiers and a main, and then practice if there is time, I just want to be closed by 12 on Sat. nights.

Default racing schedule???

ok....

Are we now racing FRI / SAT / and SUN?

With all these racing options it looks like the group could get spread out kinda thin. I can only make 1 race a weekend for sure. And maybe a second if I'm not busy. I would however, like to race with the most amount of people. I thought the FRI (night) / SUN (day) racing would workout pretty good with a strong turnout on either day. But with SAT now thrown in the mix it could get thinned out with the 3 different race days. Especially since there back to back. Also, we need to get on a more regulated race schedule. There's no reason we can't get thru a round in an hour. I think things need to be just a little more organized before people start loosing interest. Just some thoughts.....

Just wanna say YO to the Socko

Yeah I here ya evo, I was going to try and have Friday and Sunday, but I got about 10-12 people that can only race Saturday night, mostly the little car guys, I just don't want to hang anyone out to dry. And maybe I should just start Sundays as a practice day if anyone is interested.

Chris,

My .02:

If the micro guys are the main reason to race on Saturday nights, make Saturday nights a micro/run what you brung night..... race Touring and 12th on Sunday (we need less heats to get through the program more quickly, anyway) and leave Friday as an open (timed) practice night.

- Steve

P.S. I should have several new track layouts to look at this Sunday....no matter which one we choose, the days of the 7.5 second lap are OVER!

If I'm racing Saturday night, I'll run what ever shows, I'm there so it is no sweat to run the other classes, And on the small cars, they wasn't there this week cause they all went and bought new cars(BRP) just for Sat. nights. So what I'll do is be open all 3 days and see what we get for the next couple of weeks and get more input from all the drivers on when they can race and I'll make a decision then. But on Saturday nights I will still only run 2heats and a main unless the second heat is done way early, and of course if everyone will be ready. Just relax I am not burned out yet, and I am not even really close to be, I am just happy about how many racers are coming out in support of this, and I just don't want to wear everyone else out!

And as for the layouts, I want everyones input on which layout to go to so I will display them and what ever one gets the most love will be built. I was thinking of changing the layout at least once a month anyway. (To keep us all on our toes!)

Chris,

Although the motivation of our beloved race director (and his subsequent burnout) is certainly a concern, I was making a suggestion about scheduling for other reasons. I'm worried that folks may get frustrated by not being sure when we run. I've been at Checkered Flag before and had people ask when and what we run and that answer (some guys run on Fri, some of Sat, and maybe we might run on Sunday) leaves them feeling a bit confused and not all to inspired to fork over the money for a new TC. I think it's important that we establish a firm night or day when we can tell ALL the TC (or 12th or 1/18th etc.) guys to come race and not end up spliting that particular class up between several nights. To say that any night could or might be a practice or race night leaves way to much up in the air for most folks. True, us diehards will most likely show up on any night to sniff more paragon but it's hard to drum up new racers when we can't give them a firm prediction of what day they can expect the most people with which to race.

The most important thing to remember (and none of us racers have forgotten) is that YOU are the BOSS. We don't dictate the schedule or classes...you do. It's up to us to follow the schedule and rules that you set. Maybe you should quit listening to all of us entirely .

Larry,

What nights/days are you planning on running this weekend? I'm planning on racing only on Sunday. I'll most likely be there when the doors open at 10:00. A friend of mine and on-road racer from back in the day (Scott McDonald) is planning on coming out this Sunday. I don't expect it will take him long to get up to speed...especially on our current, simple layout.
