Default Modellbahn Ott (Gilbertsville PA) Scaler course/racetrack

At Modellbahn Ott Hobbies in Gilbertsville, CTRC has been working on renovating the track area to accommodate the various aspects of the RC community.

Currently there is a scaler course under construction with bridges, trenches, hill climbs, and tunnels…basically, anything we can think of. The course is approx. 100x50 and is adjacent to the racing track. This area has been growing rapidly over the past few weeks thanks to some very dedicated workers! No course is ever really complete, but it is well on its way. Construction pics as shown:

The race course has already been re-graded and expanded, and the plans are to lay it out as much as possible since it is late in the season, let it “set” over the winter. It should be finished and ready for action sometime in the spring with the intention of weekly racing classes to begin next year. Updates will be posted as we progress.

Future plans may include a rally section and possible longer G6 style course if there is enough interest. Ott’s has embraced the scaler community and has now started stocking Axial, RC4WD, and some other scaler/crawler oriented items.

Everyone is welcome to check it out! If you plan to run, the store will be asking a small maintenance fee good for all day running which is strictly for track maintenance and up-keep.

Feel free to post any questions and I’ll do my best to answer them – thank you for looking!

We are the new kids on the block, we are waiting for the other track to post up there schedules. We still have some work to do to both areas, and we are adding a rally course next to the track due to demand for it and no courses around here. The plan is to race 1-2 a month to test the waters and hold special events through out the season. Check our facebook page Crawling Tough News' for daily updates and trailing pictures. Hope to see you out there.

I think they were charging five dollars for the day when they had the first dirt track running.

Weather is breaking and I stopped down to look at everything. We are soaked to the bone at this point. The track drains well but everthing is saturaded. I will post up where we are and when we can start using both the course and track.

Bring those crawlers out.....

Off road track is there and was done over last November. No on road here and there is no room for one in the parking lot. We have had intrest in a 5th. scale off road track, but we need to see some numbers for that to take off.

I have a hobby shop who agreed to do the race but no place to host it. I wanted to keep it local like Montgomery county. I think there might be one in jersey. If you have any ideas PM me.

Hey Pat any current picks of the crawler area? I'm sure its not perfect with the terrible winter weather. Can't wait to try it out some time in the near future.
