If anything should go down, it should be an onroad track. Far too many offroad tracks in CT.

So Taco, you think people would travel a bit for some on-road asphalt? Just wondering. Hmmmmmm

Well, when controlfreakz was around, a good part of the crowd was NY guys, not to mention the equally dedicated CT crowd as well. If you can build something close to controlfreakz's onroad track without getting hit by the stupid zoning board, then an onroad track would attract.

I would have agree with Taco94 the only type of track that CT. is lacking is an on road nitro track . I believe this type of track would have the best chance of surviving. There is no competition from other tracks.

A few years back I seriously considered opening a shop/track in the North Haven area since I live right on the New Haven/North Haven line. I did a lot of research and being that I do have many years of hobby shop experiance I felt that it was way to risky of a finacial endevour to take one. I also had several people who were potential finacial backers and sucsesful buisness owners already and they also felt the risk was to great. The breaking point was when I spoke to the town and found out what they were going to require to meet their building, occupancy and saftey codes. It just became to much and I refuse to do it half a$$ just to say I had a shop and track. There is a lot more to opening and opperating a LHS/track than just most people realize.

Most people have no idea. There is a lot more to it than "building a track". We have an indoor oval, Outdoor 1/10 ,1/8 off road clay, 1/5 dirt offroad, we are adding 1/5 dirt oval, and another track to be announced.
Probably room for an on road, but to do it right is EXPENSIVE. They don't give away site work and Asphalt.

Absolutely true!!! My vision was to have an indoor offroad track as well as a carpet track and a paved outdoor track. The plans I had drawn up would have put the facility on the same level as some of the famous tracks out in Cali, but the expense for just the indoor tracks, scoring system and required pit space construction for a facility that size became way to cost prohibitive to be a lucrative fulltime buisness that would be self supporting and also alow me to collect a liveable salary. Now add in the cost of inventory, rent, utilities, taxes, insurance, ect.... and it just priced itself right out of consideration.
