Talking Ozark R/C Raceway - Springfield, MO

The track is located at 1923 E. Kearny in the North Town Mall. It has brand new ozite for a flat oval and road coarse. The oval is about 132' running lane. We have computer lap counting, with hotels very near by, there is a Radio Shack next door, a Wal-Mart and snack shops in the mall. This is a very nice track, if you ever get the chance to race here, You should.

Here is a picture of the track.

Talking

Everyone runs a little different but their pretty close so I'll just tell you what I am running. I haven't ran 19t yet but it should be pretty close to the same.

LF - Jaco Grey
RF - Jaco Purple
RR - Jaco Narrow Black
LR - Jaco Narrow Black or White

Some of the guys are running Magenta rears and Double Purple fronts, I haven't tried it yet because I am very happy with the set up I have now.

Where do you race, are you close to here? If so, do you think you might make it to the race?

I raced there on the old carpet last July. I also raced on the concrete in January. I have been racing in Ft. Smith on an outdoor concrete oval. I live in Sallisaw, Ok. If I had found out a couple weeks ago I would, but I already have plans with my family this week-end. Plan on coming up around the 29th of the month.

Unhappy

You should come up as soon as you can, and as much as you can. Gene is talking about closing the track at the end of July. Turn out has been light for a while now and paying the bills has become a challenge. He says that if he has at least 20 racers every weekend, then he will stay open, but any less and he can't do it. That is why I built the web site, we are trying everything we know to get things going again.

Good bunch of guys and a very nice track. Anyone that wants to run at this track that lives in the Joplin area can hook up and ride with me to the track. I'm going to try and bring a trans. car next week if my boys pinewood derby gets over in time,Ryan.

Hey Ryan, thanks for the help. Hopefully you can get a group together and make it back, we would love to get a transmission class going. I will have the results from this past weekend posted sometime today.
